my new CPR Bally "Eight Ball" has a sticker on the back side that reads "Dimple crush"
As this is my first playfield swap, I have no ideal what this means.

Here's my dimple crush

Sounds like it was meant to be destroyed because of dimples. Too bad it did not have pimples instead.

That's the kind of dimples I don't mind .

Looks like the dimples for installing your swapped over parts are incomplete or done twice in slightly different spots. Make sure you measure and verify against the old playfield before screwing anything down.

Hopefully they got a discount for this one.

I *NEVER* trust the dimples in PF's, from anyone: NOS, CPR, Mirco, Used! Install it where it belongs - and that's something that takes experience. BION I actually prefer an UNDIMPLED playfield! That way you know where you're putting the parts is where they should go - compare to the old playfield and adjust accordingly. Yes, this takes a lot more time.

So far, every PF I've swapped that had dimples, they were wrong in some way (some WAY wrong, like CPR Centaur, the ball trough area was way off, and I'm currently swapping a CPR 8 ball where they are way off top and bottom as well.... I'm just ignoring them and going with where they should go based on experience and in some cases running a ball down the rail/whatever hardware it is to make sure it's in the right spot.

Because of this you can adjust for things like ball hop where there shouldn't be any. The upper right corner of 8BD is particularly challenging, because of the quantity of screws up there as well as needing to get the angle correct as the ball hits the 8 ball and comes back down so it doesn't go SDTM. There's also that metal post installed near an edge where the 7 bank comes up that needs reinforcement as well. Very tricky area.

I add my own dimple once I'm sure that's where I want whatever it is with an automatic center punch.
