Went to PBR to check if they had a part. Website was half working, went to send and email and now that is down. Must have domain issues or need to renew? Hope it is that simple......

If things went from bad to worse could be an issue with whoever hosts the site or server etc. I’m not an IT person so I’m not sure of the correct verbiage but I’d hope this falls into a “network outage” problem.

From their main and sub pages:

    Web site down?

This could cost PBR a tiny handful of orders!!

    #6 1 year ago

Literally, thought this was a post about Pabst.

Now their site matches the phones when I usually call in:

    Did anyone try texting PBR?

    they take texts?

No I didn’t call, I’ve never called. Always emailed my orders in.

PBR will always mean Pabst Blue Ribbon to me

I talked and ordered with Steve last week. He mentioned adding a ton of stuff to the page coming soon. Perhaps this is his update?

    #12 1 year ago

Maybe they are moving to proper on-line shopping, with credit card checkout?

    #13 1 year ago

Ordered via phone Wednesday and parts arrived Friday morning.

I ordered Monday via email and just got my order the morning pbr broke

    #15 1 year ago

I just emailed my order yesterday morning (3/10/23) and it did not come back as undeliverable. Then I saw on here that the site was down. I hope they got my order. I guess I will have to call on Monday.

He’s said he won’t go this route so that he can keep his costs and sell prices down. Careful what you wish for.

Maybe it's weather related. Getting slammed with snow I think.

I wish I hadn't seen this thread. I'm having an anxiety attack.

    #19 1 year ago

Everything was good Thursday, no issues. Seems like it only went down later Friday? Haven’t heard anything worrying from the guys who work there.

All this means is for whatever reason, his host superpageshosting.com has disabled the site for the time being. Could be something as simple as the payment method on file for auto renewal expired.

Don’t worry guys I’ve sent them a letter via first class mail. I will let you know what I find out in April.

    #25 1 year ago

I get a good laugh out of the fact that they shut off email ordering in Federal Holidays. I love PBR.

I think that's more when someone is on vacation, they only accept phone orders as a throttle so they don't get backed up.

Got you beat. I just sent a Western Union telegram with a fax backup. My spy balloon was shot down and letter on the train derailed before getting out of Ohio.

Steve’s version of fun is milling new gear reductions on the lathe. I hope to be that cool some day.

    #41 1 year ago

Unless someone calls, email is down too. Ive only emailed, not brave enough to call

    #42 1 year ago

OK...I called. Phone is working fine and Steve will take orders (as always) over the phone. ISP blew up. Having to rebuild from scratch. No idea how long it will take. "If you want to look at the website log onto the wayback."

    #43 1 year ago

Rebuilding from scratch, ouch. But never a better chance to make changes if you were going to (not credit cards, but adding things like search, responsive design, etc)

    ISP blew up?
Where do they host the website?
They should just fax copies of the parts catalog, it would basically function the same

    Ha!

Well, all you that are too chicken-sh*t to call have a choice to make: Pick up the phone and take your medicine with a smile on your face, or suffer without your parts.

Calling PBR and getting broken down almost seems like a necessary right of passage!

Just think of what their ISP had to listen to when they told Steve his site is gone. Ordering a part should be a walk in the park in comparison

just tried calling in my order (from australia) and couldn't get through (message said technical difficulties)

The website was designed with Netscape.
