Quoted from ASAC_Schrader:That said I am enjoying Godfather and so far I have zero issues with the game. Please don't abandon code for this game too, it could be oh so much better with some polish.
Could you elaborate? I'm interested in a Godfather, but only once it has complete code. What's missing currently? The wizard mode isn't in yet, right? What other polish does it need?
Quoted from rai:Stern was a tad under the gun regarding code updates (was it especially Ghostbusters?). But now Stern code has been getting on nicely.
I would hesitate to buy anything from JJP until it’s proven otherwise but Stern seems to be doing great regarding code updates. I got Venom and it’s had several nice updates in the past 5 months.
It was also Game of Thrones for Stern, that title went years without a wizard mode, and the one we got was still undercooked (good rules, but no callouts and barely any graphics.)
But yeah, I don't believe anything coming from JJP until we actually see it, they've been promising vaporware for years now.
Quoted from chuckwurt:Um. No. The game was complete. Dwight decided to go back and make it an all time great game. The amount of callouts in the game now is insane. If you think it’s still undercooked, then the game just isn’t for you.
How many graphics do you want with a dated dmd screen?
There are no callouts *in the wizard modes*, if you read my sentence correctly. That came about because Stern neglected it. Dwight did fine with the wizard mode programming eventually, but the wizard mode media package never got the same attention, the wizard modes have nothing like the great dot-itized animations in all the rest of the game, just some text showing castle names and that's it. This is even more relevant for the JJP games; that company is always committed to high quality media assets, and I'd bet lacking that is part of why they haven't gotten them done.
