I use both my index and middle fingers, two fingers on each button.

Middle. I feel at ease flipping the bird.

I saw that question a few years ago, I noticed that on the left I use the middle finger and on the right my index finger, thought that was weird. Then remembered 15 years ago I cut my right hand with a broken dish and it resulted in my right middle finger being permanently bent inward and kind of weak, that explained it. Finger has been screwed up for so long I don't even think about it anymore.

Never thought about it. Index fingers mostly, sometimes the birdie fingers. Never the pinky or thumb.

Never thought about it, why ask?

Just something I was thinking about. I think I prefer to play with my middle fingers

Middle for me, but I always notice in a tourney setting when people double up on middle and index. That one minor change is bananas to me. Like trying to write left handed.

I do the same, always wondered if I was the only one, guess not!

    Middle and ring finger.

Index and middle on both buttons. I went through a stage of testing what finger to use and how to place my hands but ultimately just went back to whatever I did naturally and that’s the 2 finger placement.

Today, I was thinking on asking this same question...
I use my middle finger on left and right, but sometimes instinct kicks in and I palm/finger-slap that button to get a last second nudge.
Every now and then I'll try out the index but revert back to middle.

But what do people do when there are two buttons on a side? eg Munsters (Premium) Munsters has that lower/under playfield and a separate set of flipper buttons?

Ah, the great question that could unlock the mystery of the universe.

    Same here

I used to use my pointer fingers until I had some hand issue that forced me to use my middle fingers. Now, that's all I use, and using my pointers feels very foreign. Having said that, when I make the intentional switch on occasion I never see a detriment to my gameplay which is interesting.

    Middle on my left
    Pointer on right

I use the heel of me hand. Easier for me to slap save. I guess its more like punch save though

It was a sweet bippy as I recall.

Well, I'm not familiar with starfighter's bippy, so I didn't know if it was sweet.

I use my middle fingers on the flipper buttons. I feel that I can jostle the machine with better control using my index and outer two fingers than I can with middle and outer two fingers.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone. Left index, right middle. Recently had surgery on both (pinball injuries?) and was able to switch to left middle, right index without a noticeable difference.
