If you're asking X and I'm only willing to pay Y I'm not wasting your time by coming to see it. I'm offering Y and if I don't get an affirmative response you're not getting my money.
We live in the communication age. It's no longer necessary to drive over to inspect an item. I know what it looks like before I make an offer.

If you are putting your life on hold waiting for a response you're doing it wrong. Send text, go on with your life.
Example, good: Interested in your Meteor. If you'll take $300 I can be there after 6 tonight, send address and time to meet.
Example, bad: Hi, game still for sale?
