I don't collect anything, but I have never threw away anything I ever found that I never seen before, that I thought may be worth something someday.
I have a lot of old soda bottles, and other what-nots, but I think the coolest thing is a unopened beer in a aluminum can I found about 40 years ago. Witches Brew, made in LA.
I remember about the time I found that Billy Beer was selling for big bucks.
After Dad passed I looked at some of his odd stuff on Ebay. Nothing much, worth 20-25 for this or that. I was just curious, not worth it for me.
A long time ago when I seen how old stuff could get valuable I told Mom to never throw anything old away. I think I have a sewing machine in a wooden box from the 60's.
I have a 1950 100.00 bill that is in pretty good shape. I know the value of that is at least 100.00
When I was young I did collect coins. I had a whole lot of different stuff, but my favorite was a $3 1854-0 gold piece.
I would say now I collect rent, but it does not even seem that way, the tenants just drop it in my box once a month. (all that used to be a nightmare and I would have to "chase" the rent, but thankfully I have awesome tenants now).
Anyway, stuff has been "collecting" here for over 50 years. I would sell most for 50% of last price sold for on Ebay.
(yes I am easy to deal with like that, so many people want close to what something is listed for, and that is wrong, the real price is what that item actually sold for).
(and when I say most, the rare CD's I sell on Amazon, not selling them 50% off).
(and no coins left, they were sold long ago when buying rental houses).
(and I would only trust someone that has been active on this site for at least 2 years).
I love Pinside and everyone here!
