Say some upstart pinball company with no prior experience manufacturing pinball machines came on this forum and said they would be making a new pinball machine themed after some old movie, band, TV show, or even maybe some now defunct amusement park or restaurant. But they would need a substantial deposit to ensure you would get one. Paid in full would get you to the top of the list of buyers.

So the question is what dream theme would get you to throw all caution to the wind and send off your pre-order money to somebody you don't really know because it is something you would have to have, and there is no way you would be able to live a normal life without it?

Nothing would cause an automatic preorder reaction from me, but if they did a TMNT with the IDW art and the layout was good, I'd be all in. Theme alone can't do it though, it has got to play very well. I'm getting cranky and picky.

Why wait? For $250k I will orchestrate the build of a bespoke pin. Make your wildest dream come true. Truly limited and you will own the only one.

Themes that I think would be big sellers:

    - Board games are big right now so maybe a RISK themed or world domination themed table would be good. You could travel the world collecting items and/or powering up your armies. Multiballs could be themed as big battles between nations.
    - Time Travel/Steampunk game. Yes its non licensed but a theme where you use a steampunk like background to travel back in time and in the future would be really cool. I guess you can use the Sid Meier CIVILIZATION licence them there or even a BACK TO THE FUTURE licence.
    - Video game themes would be really cool as they can cut across many demographics. You could use a Mario-themed table like Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Odyssey or some of the spin off games like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros or Mario Party. Other video game themes would be The Sims, Grand Theft Auto or Pokémon, Minecraft or even Call of Duty
    - Licences where you can bring in multiple characters and themes! Such as Marvel, Disney, DC, Pixar, or even Harry Potter
    - Apple! yes I'm serious it could work if you cater to the apple fanboys and market it like the Supreme Pinball table
    - More music themed titles that appeal to different demographics like The Beatles, Bob Marley, U2, Miles Davis/Coltrane Jazz theme, Queen and more modern artisits like Kanye West, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Ed Sherren, Beyoncé or you could also do a Legends of Hip Hop table with B.I.G., Tupac, Snoop, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Wu-Tang or a legends of Rock n Roll table with Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Elton John, Rolling Stones
    - A proper Tesla table would be pretty dope
    - Nike table with celebrity endorsements from Jordan and others would be cool
    - Lastly, the top brand companies of the world like Cola Cola, McDonalds and KFC

and lastly lastly, go with what the Supreme table was trying to go for and Total Nuclear Annihilation and go for a balls out 80's Bally style game with updated code and graphics but retro sounds!

I originally thought it was going to be Tron, but there just isn't enough to the game for me. Too bad it came out during Stern's lean years. It will never happen, but if a Weird Al pin was done and done well, it could probably get my money for a NIB. I've never bought NIB, but if any theme could do it, it would be that or maybe even Rad. I would never buy just for theme though, gameplay and rules have to be there too.

How about a completely original theme like The Devil's Whorehouse ?

Hire Coop (the greatest living illustrator) to make a fun PG-13 game that only real men (and liberated women) could own.

Don't know if I will ever preorder again but I've been hoping for a fast and furious pin. Probably the wrong crowd though so doubt it will ever happen

None, i dont give my money to strangers or people who do work for me until the job is done. Didn't take me long to learn that lesson in life.

Psychedelic snails. Some sort of Fantasy in Time theme.
Or a sexy fish woman. Sort of barracuda related.

Jpop goes to jail would get my pre-order money, but he has to meet Kevin and Andrew in jail. Plus it has to have a fd in poop shoot video mode.

How about a Pinside Theme with all the big names as bash toys on the playfield. The backglass and cabinet art could be epic as well.

Not that I have pre-order money, but I still wanna see a dark comedy pin based on Max Headroom. Also, someone else mentioned board games, and it occurs to me that it'd be fun to see a Pandemic pin. Moving out of the usual circles, a pin based on Dante's Inferno, The Canterbury Tales, or The Decameron would be extremely cool - imagine the potential for intricate artwork, with a variety of music (I thought this up when I was listening to Steeleye Span) and obviously a wide array of mode opportunities. It would Just Be Neato.

Also, an EM-style pin based on Mary Blair's artwork for Alice in Wonderland would be extremely cool. I've been sitting on an idea for a long time for a pin where you have to light seven bumpers representing the different flowers, which would obviously look and sound terrific with one bell for each bumper arranged on a melodic scale.

As long as there is a Whysnow bash toy and CrazyLevi and TheLaw kicker targets, I'm in!

    Love it!

A Choggard mode where you loose 1/2 your points.

Kanada tiny nutsack that you smash will the ball.

A Trudeau mode when you lock balls to grow his State record pumpkin, then have sex with it when it's only 6 months old for Jackpot.

A gobbler hole that takes your ball whenever an adult pinsider asks for a Harry Potter pin.

Outdrink Gary Stern to raise multiplayer

"Dimple Dumper" toy dumps 10 balls on to the playfield once a minute in attract mode, while the games calls out 'Steel is harder than Wood'

Old music soundtrack. All bands featured must be at least 50 years old - Beatles, Led Zep, Black Sabbath

Pre-Order mode where you gamble all your points with a 5% chance of getting them back.

Every once in a while the JAWS theme plays when you hit a scoop, but nothing happens.

    #46 5 years ago

Fast and Furious and Wonder Woman would be mine.

I’d be down for an ‘O-Din and the pinside drama queens’. Could be a hybrid action battle pin meets flamboyant musical with meme display and a hitler wizard mode.
