My surname is Sunnucks, a bit unusual. Got called Snux when I was at school and it kind of stuck.

Cuz I like watching Jackie Chan movies back in the day and he almost always plays a cop. Ergo, kungfucop. Also, cuz it shortens to KFC and we all know that is da bomb and finger lickin' good!

Sorry dude. Had to do it. Haha

Huddy was my nickname in college because my last name was Hudson. Rx is because I'm a pharmacist. I probably should have gone with huddyrph, but all pharmacists I know use rph in their screen name and I wanted something different.

It's latin for "I think", and it's a reference to my job as a neuroscientist, as well as a personal norm: I always try to consciously think about the statements and posts I make, as well as try to evaluate viewpoints that are opposite to my own as objectively as I'm able to.

That's the most accurate answer, I think

Wow, I'm not sure this is the right forum for you.

    #463 9 years ago

Haha, well with the risk of digging myself an even deeper hole, let me say that when I first decided on the name, years ago for a different forum, I was thinking that my norm might translate better into "dubito", which means "I doubt". But I thought cogito sounded better. Does minding the coolness at least redeem me somewhat?

My last name is Polish with a few scary looking letters thrown in so no one usually gets it right (especially teachers). For years everyone just called me Strohz for short. In fact, we just recently moved and the movers had my name spelled a minimum of 8 different ways on the boxes (some of which I hadn't even seen before); customs loved that My game room is known as the StrohzCade among so my wife had a custom neon sign made for me one Xmas. That's where the avatar Stems from as well...

Lol. I was kidding of course. I was referring to this..

Quoted from cogito:I always try to consciously think about the statements and posts I make, as well as try to evaluate viewpoints that are opposite to my own as objectively as I'm able to.

I didn't realize anyone here did this.

    I played D & D in its heyday.

My name is respelled version of this from the old D & D archives:

"Asmodeus is the most powerful of infernal beings."

"As the master of Hell, he has complete power over lesser devils, including other lords of Baator. Several times he has permanently changed their physical forms at a whim."

Asmodeus was depicted as the strongest, most cunning, and most beautiful of all devils.

    200px-Asmodeus_-_Eric_Deschamps.jpg200px-Asmodeus_-_Eric_Deschamps.jpg

And just for fun - this fact:

Owing to a moral panic regarding Dungeons & Dragons, Asmodeus did not initially appear in the 2nd edition.

Now if I only had complete mastery over Pinball...

    #482 9 years ago
    Quoted from Strohz:

My last name is Polish with a few scary looking letters thrown in

That was funny as hell!!! Loved it! I was in the Army (in Germany) with a bunch of Polish guys from the Chicago area. Some of their names were so long, they could barely get all the letters on their name tags for their uniforms!

My last name (Giorgio) is very rare here in the States, but in Italy, it is as common as 'Smith'. It translates into: "Farmer", or, "One who loves the land."

I was in the same boat as you with people who could not pronounce it. The first day I was in the Army, the Sergeant read out the names of all 200+ of us for a roll call. Every name in Kentucky was so common then: Miller, Baker, Jones, etc. When he got to my name he just said: "YOU! The one with the name I can't pronounce! Are you here?!" I knew then it was ME and I timidly answered!
