Tried to search for a similar post but didn't find one. I wonder about this time to time and would love to hear some answers.

What do you think is the most difficult shot in any pinball game? Like a straight up shot, no multiball, just shooting.

On my own machine, DM I have issues with the left loop.

I think the "hole in one" on NGG is crazy hard as well as the Lost Mine shot on WH20.

More recently I find the the GEM shot in Tron to be crazy hard.

    #2 8 years ago

+1 on hole in one NGG, I overshoot it more often than not.

The green 'planet get' shot on the bottom right on pinbot is pretty darn difficult as well.

    #3 8 years ago

The right ramp on TFTC is verrry tight.

    #4 8 years ago

    The left ramp on TSPP.
The Catapult WHAM target on MM.
The Air Raid ramp on JD.

    #5 8 years ago

Any shot I am trying to make at that point in time I'll hit the shots I don't need like crazy.

    #6 8 years ago
    Quoted from Cliffy:

    The left ramp on TSPP.

    Indeed.

    #7 8 years ago

I agree on the Lost Mine shot on WH20

    #8 8 years ago
    Quoted from Blakesell:

The green 'planet get' shot on the bottom right on pinbot is pretty darn difficult as well.

+1 I usually end up losing the ball more times than I actually make that shot. I think I make it more by accident and not trying to than when I actually try to aim for it.

The Gem shot on Tron is quite hard. Although, it seems on some Trons it's harder than others. The one I play regularly is extremely difficult, and therefore it is also extremely difficult to get to Portal Multiball.

    #10 8 years ago

Either the left ramp on TSPP or the Picard Maneuver on STTNG

Yeah I finally played a Tron LE the other day. Incredible light show! That is how a modern pin should look! Except maybe with a color DMD...

The GEM on that one was hard as hell to hit.

    Quoted from scottslash:

That was what I was going to say

I had a tough time with that shot as well!

    #14 8 years ago

Rt ramp on Congo is tough but not as tough as the hole in one on NGG.

The real answer for me though is, whatever big point shot I need to beat the high score. Suddenly I start missing everything when I really need it!

    #15 8 years ago

I forgot the right ramp "sword"/lock on LOTR. I don't know why but I have some sort of hand/eye coordination failure on that shot all the time.

Man I want to play a CONGO! I've never seen or played one - Johnny Mnemonic either...

    The Bank in Maverick

You have to clear some drop targets before getting your pinball to hit a pinball with enough power to hiy a target.

    Hard work.

    #17 8 years ago
    Quoted from Cliffy:

    The left ramp on TSPP.

Tough for sure. So satisfying to rip the left loop and hit that ramp at blazing speed. I'm very rarely able to do it.

    #18 8 years ago

The only pin I have played enough to relate to this question is Dolly Parton. I always have a hard time getting down the 4th inline drop target, and when I do hitting the standup in the back of the row is difficult. You have to hit the ball with enough force to reach it, but straight enough you don't bounce around inside the track. Usually I just give up on it after I hit the 4th target and get the x5 multiplier. Once you get that your better off just scoring on the board. I still like to try for it now and then as a challenge.

    The "G" ramp on GNR.

    #20 8 years ago

+1 on Air Raid Ramp on JD.

    #21 8 years ago

Not sure, but in my collection it's either the left ramp in TSPP or the Jackpot (furthest left shot) on Bride of Pinbot.

    #22 8 years ago

TSPP ramp, and Venon Skill Shot on Spidey.

    #23 8 years ago

    +1 for Picard manover.

I'm not going to pick a pin specifically, but I have trouble w/ orbits shots where you have to shoot it between pop bumpers. Ughhh!!!!

    Quoted from The_Gorilla:

Ahh, I know exactly what you mean gorilla, I find myself totally out of rhythm when I get to royal rumble on SM. I start acting as if I never had a multiball before in my life...

    #27 8 years ago

    Tron's gem shot

Quoted from Schusler:I'm not going to pick a pin specifically, but I have trouble w/ orbits shots where you have to shoot it between pop bumpers. Ughhh!!!!

That would be Tron's right orbit shot and it's difficult but the Gem shot is worse. You can't even see the lit insert on it.

    #28 8 years ago

In that case, the Advance Rank/Command Decision on STTNG. You cannot see it even when lit.

    #29 8 years ago

The ramps and the captive ball shot in Williams IJ, man they seem narrow.

    #30 8 years ago

+1 Hole in one shot on NGG. By far hardest shot in all of Pinball

    .

Quoted from kwiKimart:The "G" ramp on GNR.

    Really???? Maybe it's time for a flipper rebuild? (;

The hardest shot in pinball is the jackpot shot in Whrilwind during multi ball. It's a shot you really feel good about when you do get it

    Quoted from PinWiz17:

Yes any of the million point shots in Whirlwind, Funhouse, and Taxi are difficult to hit. The hidden trunk shot in Funhouse is tough and it only stays open for a bit.

    #35 8 years ago

I would say the 7-10 split. There are 1,023 spare leaves in bowling and the 7-10 is by far the most difficult.

    #36 8 years ago

The Dead End shot on TZ is pretty darn hard to hit consistently.

    #37 8 years ago

    The fairway.

    #38 8 years ago

As mentioned, the one you need to make at the given time.

I played GNR once and I was trying and trying to hit it up the G ramp, until the ball went SDTM on ball 3.

    #40 8 years ago

    Shadow loop in TS.

Must have had a weak right flipper. That shot is easy if you have strong coils

    #42 8 years ago

Tonight, any shot on CSI (darn you loops!).

    #43 8 years ago

Tz any shot, but the lock shot is a ripper

    #44 8 years ago

Holy pickle, I agree the right orbit shot on CV is a hard get

    #45 8 years ago

    Hit me shot in Jackbot.

It's a dare. And even if you make it, it returns straight at you.

    #46 8 years ago

It's been said, but I'll say it again...Any shot that involves a time constraint and/or jackpot. The same shot seems much easier otherwise.

    #47 8 years ago

It's been said the ball launch is the most important shot all else comes after,
on older games think 'ball placement' where you need that ball to be

    #48 8 years ago

It's driving me bonkers - can only manage three!

    #49 8 years ago
    Quoted from Leigh:

Tz any shot, but the lock shot is a ripper ...

I assume you are referring to the bounceouts, not the actual shot itself. In my experience, it is very dependent on the particular machine you are playing. For example, I can successfully nail the shot at least 9 out of every 10 attempts on my TZ.

    Quoted from mkgort:

Tonight, any shot on CSI (darn you loops!).

The left flipper right loop shot is one of the hardest out there. I must have a success rate of <1:5. On the bright side it is also one of the few shots that I seem to get the ball back from if I miss on this game.
