Quoted from Jaybird815:The only brand I’ll eat, 10xs better than Nathans

Those are some very strong words. I'd be willing to try em but have my doubts about being better

They’re twice the price as Nathan’s but way better, they are tough to find outside of the Chicago area.

I jave never seen them down here in the St Louis area
Quoted from electricsquirrel:I don't know...…
That kind of grosses me out.
Definitely do not want any ketchup on those wieners that would gross me out
I'm kind of intrigued by therm. What do you put on them, baked beans, spaghetti sauce, ? I came across this just a few days ago and it is a head scratcher.
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:Street meat off the hot dog cart. Not bad, usually includes a pop.
Now we're talking !
LTG : )

So you buy the streat meat off the street vendor and then they pop you? I think I would go to a different more friendly vendor
Quoted from BillySastard:I couldn't take all this weiner talk anymore. Took a little road trip to Portillos for a Chicago dog.

Do they deliver?? To SE Michigan? lol......
I'll be grabbing one of those when Expo rolls around...Sonic will have to do for now.

And I don’t see a drop of ketchup, nicely done!
I was advised that most people outside of the Mid-Atlantic might not know what Old Bay is. It is, in fact, a cultural touchstone here in MD and the surrounding areas. It (or similar seasonings) can be found on most restaurant tables around here, in the spice cupboards, everywhere, and in all types of stores. It goes well with everything, and there are many products around here that have Old Bay on them, including potato chips, popcorn, jerky, peanuts, brats...the list goes on and on. In Baltimore (it is made right outside of the city) a garage is dressed up like the eponymous Old Bay can. Old Bay merchandise is prevalent around here. If you are looking for a fantastic seasoning that goes well with everything, look no further. The story below is pretty cool about its history.

Old Bay is nationwide, I literally just ate a 1/2# of shrimp, steamed and covered in Old Bay down here in Florida

Of course it is Florida. You will tend to find it along the coasts very easily.

You are also on a coast. It is not here in the st louis area or at least not at the grocery store I go to.
Quoted from DBLM:Of course it is Florida. You will tend to find it along the coasts very easily.
And it’s readily available and used in Chicago as well
Quoted from Jaybird815:They’re twice the price as Nathan’s but way better, they are tough to find outside of the Chicago area.

Oh no not you too!
I suppose I could eat a hot dog without ketchup.
I'm just not sure why I'd want to, when I like ketchup!
For variety perhaps. That Portillo's does look yummy. Tomatoes! Nothing wrong with some unprocessed lycopene for a change!
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Oh no not you too!
The whole Chicago Dog kit... it was great!
No poppy seed buns around here otherwise.
Quoted from zombywoof:Gwaltney has a dog that they only sell in the Tidewater market. It’s a little skinnier and has a skin that has a very satisfying snap to it. Asking for ketchup on your hot dog will get you the evil eye in these parts. Chili, mustard, and onions is the norm.
While I do prefer the Tidewater Dog found at local hot dog joints such as Jimmy's (RIP), Tony's, and Kevin's Dog House, when I'm at home I'm willing to mix it up a bit. Start with a Hebrew National hot dog boiled and then pan seared in a skillet with real butter and Tabasco, add yellow mustard, pickled jalepeño slices, beef chili, and shredded cheddar. Yum!

Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Trying something new today. Thanks DBLM for sending this Old Bay hot sauce it's legit.

That's a spicy wiener!
I like putting guldens mustard on my hotdogs of choice, Nathan’s. Then I top it with some shoestring fries that get ketchup on them. I call it the Donny dog
Quoted from Fulltilt:Some good Vienna Beef, dijon, onion, relish and peppers... oh my.
[quoted image]
Nice! You always deliver Don!
Quoted from zpinman370:Looks like we can put SDTM on your weiner now to boys
Don't forget to BUY, BUY, BUY

too
And ... tempting, but I will pass.
I will admit to trying that Seattle abomination with stone ground mustard i/o the Sriracha….it’s fucking great haha.

That sounds like a good one
