The Balls... Sure you can make it perverted, but still its the most important thing about pinball. I really think it should be in the poll.
If you take out the balls, you don't have a poll.. In many ways I suppose.

I really like just playing but I have to admit it feels great to figure a fault out and fix it. For a newbie like me the machine is a mystery and there's so much to learn, guess that's why every fix is a little victory!
Somewhat surprised in the poll results thus far w/ 60 votes (edit: now 100) , but no votes yet for the "pinball tournaments" choice.
Some players enter many tournaments every year, and in multiple states and/or in multiple countries.

I would say the people as well. Whether its a friend I made by buying or selling, or getting or giving repair advice to, I did not expect that when I got into the hobby. When I go to shows, I seem to hang out and talk about pins more than playing them. I Like fixing and cleaning them but not as much as playing them. Tournaments are fun, but again, more for the social aspect.
Too bad only one choice is allowed in the poll. Besides just playing for fun, talking about it, collecting the ones we like, working on them, is also important. I love the technical side, but I enjoy the artwork restoration very much too.

Good point. That's one of the big reasons why I enjoy going to pinball expos/festivals, tournaments, and to pinball parties with friends.

Poll results confirm that pinball is all around quite a lot of fun, as many of us already know.

Feel free to post some pics, recent or past, of what you like best about pinball.
I like tournaments, but have only played in two real tournaments (one IFPA ranked where I took third place out of 15 players, one not where I busted out first round), plus one BS time-limited tournament when I was in 7th grade (where I took second place). I would like to play in more. It's funny, because I would easily have checked "playing just for fun" or "talking pinball" a couple of months ago, and now here I am all about the competitive side.
