    Quoted from Pinball1987:

Has anyone bought a new machine and there was something majorly
Wrong with it? What now, does the dealer fox it free of charge or does stern just drop ship the part to you like the machine was drop shipped?

Stick around for awhile and you'll see the value of the distributors. Some of them suck, but most of them are the heart and soul of the entire industry. They take on the inventory... they will ship one-offs to BFE Arkansas... they will handle the stupid complaints ... they will do trade ins ... they bring games to shows and are happy to talk for hours... they will take a deposit and allow you to change your mind 10 times before you decide on which title you want (prior to it shipping).

and... BTW... most of the manufacturers *DO* sell direct ( a limited number of games).. and guess what? It is the same price as what the distributor is charging
