Now that there are so many of us making pinball machines , what is your favorite classic arcade game to transfer into a pin??
I would go with Robotron: 2084 or Sinistar.

    Battlezone maybe Arkanoid

    Steve

Wow, I've never heard of that one, is it good?

Easy...Donkey Kong, so much to work with

The only video game worth playing .

Arkanoid and Rush N' Attack is one of my favorite arcade games and a cool theme, so maybe that too. I thankfully own a great one.

    Would go well with WOZ!

    #8 7 years ago

    Marble Madness

    #9 7 years ago

    Phoenix could be fun...

    #10 7 years ago

P3 could easily do that, with their pop-up wall of targets.

Defender was a pretty fun game that's already been done in this vein, but I'm having a really hard time thinking of any classic arcade game with enough meat on it to stand up to a pinball machine on current day standards... =\

    Tempest...somehow.

A friend and I would play MULE for hours on the Atari 800.

Pac Man. I'm picturing a pinball video game hybrid.

    #14 7 years ago

Using flipper buttons (ala Shadow) to tilt ramps so the ball gets to different holes in them could be interesting.

    #15 7 years ago

I was thinking tempest too. It ate all the quarters I didn't put into pinballs.

You could easily do something like Twd hoard mode that would feel like the game.

Might be a little one dimensional though.

Dragon's Lair pinball with artwork from Don Bluth himself would be a dream come true.

    #17 7 years ago

I would LOVE for somebody to do robotron with an old school centaur style PF.

    #18 7 years ago

Now that DMD is done.....Dragon's Lair is an obvious choice. So much you could do with that theme

And Space Ace would be cool as well.

I'm sure a pinball based on those games would be 100x better than the video games themselves because those games are total ass.

    Atari Video Pinball.

The P3 system (is that what the name is?) system could emulate Atari Pinball perfectly I would think.

Ghosts and Goblins might be fun and has possibilities for cool artwork.

Further into the realm of ridiculous (though definitely possible - at a price), how about BurgerTime, Mappy, or Elevator Action in a multi-level format like Pinball Circus or Bonzai Run?

    #23 7 years ago

    Tempest...all the way!

Damn - someone beat me too it, I just read.

    #24 7 years ago

Oh snap, I lied.. Bubble Bobble. I'd be all over that as a pinball game!

    #25 7 years ago

This reminds me of an idea my friend and I had for a CFTBL style game where you play a grounded kid sneaking out with their friends to go to the arcade, and the pinball machine would visually emulate all the great arcade games during the arcade frenzy multi ball.

The flyer or the home version box art would make good translites.

    Awesome soundtrack

    OST (check out track 6)

    Arranged (Very cool)

    8 bit

I've always thought that Rapid Fire & Hyperball's gameplay has a Tempest kind of vibe to it.

The flyer would make an awesome translite.

The NES sprites would work wonderfully for DMD animations.

    pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

The music is some of the best ever put into a game. You could even include the ability to switch from the OST to the arranged and 8 bit versions.

    OST

    Arranged

    8 bit

If Stern makes it we need to keep it simple.....takes forever to get code for the games we have now. Asking Stern to write code for 16/32/64 bit graphics might be asking a lot...Pong would be a good choice for Stern.......

    #30 7 years ago

    Dragons lair would be fantastic.

    #31 7 years ago

    Final Fight

    IMG_1220 (resized).JPGIMG_1220 (resized).JPG

    #32 7 years ago

Might as well go whole hog oddball and make it Final Fight Guy from the SNES. ; )

(WHAT THE FUUUUUU...Pricecharting says the SNES cart loose is 200 bucks?! I'm like 95% sure I have one sitting around..)

    #33 7 years ago

    Punch Out!

    #34 7 years ago

not any where near classic, but GTA would be my choice . . .

We would play for money . I played on planet mule for a while but it got really lame when dickbag hosts would shut down the game when they were losing .

    1. Mr Do!
    2. Arkanoid (screenshot is from tournament Arkanoid)

I've always thought that Rapid Fire & Hyperball's gameplay has a Tempest kind of vibe to it.

I remember hearing those were both designed to mimick Space Invaders, and Tempest was build as a 3D version of Space Invaders, so I totally see that link...

I can't think of many classic arcade games that would directly translate to a good pinball machine, but it would be neat to come up with some sort of Breakout / Super Breakout / Arkanoid game physically that would really work.

    #42 7 years ago

    Super Marble Madness

The all mighty , our savior TRUXTON
Just the name alone is awesome to say.

    Isn't that a Bally Spectrum?

    #45 7 years ago

MULE was a great game for its time. I can still remember that pokee music.

    #46 7 years ago

Double Dragon is one of my favorite games and would be a great choice but having said that I'm going to say Mortal Kombat

    Finish Him!
    Fatality!
    Toasty!

    #47 7 years ago

Head to Head Cyberball. Game "tilts" when you don't advance the ball far enough to get a first down or touch down.
    Exploding players.

I think P3 would be awesome format for Cyberball.

Joust! Oh wait. One of these days I will get to play this game.
