I watched Elf for the first time the other night. My usual go to movies are national lampoons Christmas vacation and I am one of those nut jobs that will watch the Christmas Story on Christmas day multiple times! With the kids we usually at the usual cartoons. Rudolph, frosty, and the Grinch.
Quoted from ZooDude:+1 for Better off Dead.
But the best Christmas movie ever is The Ref
[quoted image]
Yes! The Ref. I introduced this movie to all three of my nephews one Christmas night when we were all winding down. They enjoyed it so much they let me know that they look forward to watching it every Christmas.
Just watched some miracle on 34th street. This thread really put me in the mood for some Christmas movies
Ah, forgot about Ref. Good one. Met Dennis once at the airport in Shannon Ireland.
And to add to the action Christmas genre, Long Kiss Goodnight.
Quoted from bigguybbr:Yes! All except for "The Year Without Santa Clause". My wife sings the heat miser song to me anytime she really wants to get under my skin. She knows I hate it.
That is the best one of the bunch. Pure art.
Watching Die Hard 2 now.
Watched Deck the Halls and Christmas with the Kranks last night
Already watched and will watch again Home Alone and Christmas Vacation
Of course Die Hard and Lethal Weapon.
Quoted from ZooDude:Honorable mention
Rare Exports
Saw this in the theater back when you could still see a foreign film in theaters.
If you haven't seen this one, don't miss it
[quoted image]
Forgot about this. Just first watched this last year actually. Good movie.
It may be a day or two early, but merry Christmas to all you pin heads, and thank you for an amazing year in the hobby! With all the craziness in the world, this forum has often been a bright spot, and for that I’m thankful!
I think it is important to spend time with your family, and during this time...more so than ever. Movies are a GREAT way to do that. No long lines. No appointments. No phones. Just sit and enjoy together.
We have a very large Christmas collection, and we try to watch several during the season.
Miracle on 34th street, White Christmas, Elf, National lampoon's Christmas vacation, a Christmas story, the Santa clause, jingle all the way, scrooged, it's a wonderful life, home alone, etc.
If you are watching with a spouse or adults: bad Santa (1&2), love actually, trading places, or Harold and Kumar Christmas are great.
Good off beat "Christmas" movies include die hard, Gremlins, Brazil, black Christmas, and batman returns.
I'm not a big movie guy, but Christmas Story & Christmas Vacation are a given. Ernest needs another mention. I'm a sucker for any Ernest movie and some of the direct to TV ones were really bad.
Here's our well of christmas-not-christmas movies we dip into every year. It's ever expanding.

Quoted from ReadyPO:A Christmas Story - I triple dog dare ya!
[quoted image]
I went to high school with the guy that stuck his tongue to the pole. Fun times
Christmas Vacation and Elf are my favorites.
I've come to appreciate A Christmas Story over the past decade.
The Rankin Bass animated stuff is a lot of fun.
Quoted from mcluvin:Trading Places. It's a classic....[quoted image]
yes, and a bonus, jamie lee curtis boob shot...
My family has made Christmas Chronicles and sequel a yearly must. Kurt Russell plays Santa.
A cheesey movie we watch because my youngest loves it is The Christmas Bunny.
Quoted from Vino:I can respect that.
[quoted image]
Oh yes!! Love Lacey!!!
*Scrooge / A Christmas Carol (the 1931 version)
*Trading Places (I watch this before New Year's Day)
*The Commodore 64 Christmas Demo from 1982
*Homecoming (A Walton's Christmas Movie)

Quoted from audihere:Trailer Park Boys: Xmas Special

No one in my wife’s family had ever seen or heard of Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas before I just made them watch it.

We just watched it tonight. Now on is Muppets Christmas Carol.
Big fan of the Classics here..
Scrooge (Alistair Sim is the best Scrooge ever!)
Miracle on 34th St (Natalie Wood, Maureen O'hara and Edmund Gwenn make a star studded cast that can't be replicated)
Scrooged (love Carol Kane!!! and Bobcat Goldthwait, David Johansen as the Cabbie, Michael Pollard - the supporting cast makes this great)
It's a Wonderful Life (can't watch it every year though.. every few is good enough)
Shop Around the Corner (It looks like "You've got mail" pulled it's story from this movie)
Bishop's Wife - Cary Grant, you have to wonder if he's really an angel, he's pretty devilish at times.
A Christmas Carol - not the best version but still good and a nice chance to see Gene Lockhart and his daughter June before she got lost in space.
It's Christmas. And in between tech support and finishing a few chores here. I'm watching The 13th Warrior.
Merry Christmas !
LTG : )
I'm ready for some major Christmas movie action this year. I plan to try and watch 5 or 10 Christmas movies that I've never seen before. Things like Scrooged that I've never bothered to watch before. Is Last Action Hero a Christmas movie? haha
Christmas Vacation !
( Yea , I know it’s probably mentioned every year, but it’s a classic to me. They don’t make movies like this no more)
