Quoted from illawarra92:when you use your stunning fully running cinderella from 1948 as a dumping ground.
Quoted from jrpinball:That game is another sleeper. Great player, as is it's add-a-ball counterpart "Card Trix".
love that game so much had to import one from the usa to australia as i coulnd't find one here.
Quoted from EM-PINMAN:Gottlieb 1977 Sure Shot 2. [quoted image][quoted image]
actually like the colours the cab has been redone in
Quoted from mtn-:I love the backglass on the Rock Star!
I dont think I've ever seen that small field down right on it, "Previous highest score" before. Or have I just been blind? (probably)
that is for recording the highest score to date
Quoted from Playdium:Just starting in on my Strange World Sample machine. Playfield has the normal wear at the kickout. Has anyone ever created a stencil for this area?[quoted image]
yes there was a decal made by a member
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/new-center-decal-for-gottlieb-strange-world#post-2427055
Quoted from mark532011:Picked up a decent domino. I am intrigued by the gigantic roto-domino target thingie. It’s not currently running but I am confident. The big center plastic has broken and sagged down, I will have to make a replacement.
[quoted image]
domino is a fun game, good luck in getting her up and running.
these may help, pinball rescue sell repro plastics and decals for the roto targets
with stripping cabs why not use an orbital sander?
outside with the correct protective gear you can get them done in about an hour.
Quoted from wayinla:Guess the pin beneath all that black!

Williams OXO
Quoted from joshmc:Just out of interest, what are you using for a stencil? I've been using Mylar on my "Big Deal" but have had a few issues with the paint bleeding and had to re-paint[quoted image]
hey josh, what i have found works well is to apply the mylar down, then paint a thin coat of paint along the edge where the stencil is cut.
this then helps stop the bleed.
i documented this on aussie arcade on a few of my pin restores (look up 'happy clown the game that couldn't be given away' with detailed pix etc.)
just finished the cab on a gottlieb Baseball. sanded back and the original design was gone.
so had to use photos off the 'net and scale draw them back to size to make stencils.
made a few small changes to the original design but really happy the way it came out.
just finished the relay board and will start on the head this weekend

gottlieb #grande domino
sooooo did an 11 hour in total road trip for this..
needs heap of work, will be getting the full ground up resto. will pull apart tomorrow.
will need to use a spare wedgehead cab have here. after the tare down will start on the other cab. it was once a gottlieb target pool.
so the photos tell the story, strange (as most of the italian add a ball games this one has some hacks). it has had a circa 1965 williams credit unit assembly installed).
have respro plastics and backglass which is being made in italy.
have this week off work so will chip away each day.
love the home paint job on the cabinet.
last photo..there were a handful of gottlieb pinballs that were made with the ball launch between the flippers. from memory there were only 8 or so gtb pins from around 68 and 69 with this feature.
so once you win a free ball during play the gate opens and diverts the ball to a plunger that pushes the ball up the playfield. it's a really cool feature.
third for italy made gottliebs.

started on surf champ last weekend. game has been sitting for ages, so will need everything pulled apart and rebuilt.
new pbr order confirmed as sent this morning
though our winter has just started so not as much will get done until it warms up a bit
20230514_181117 (resized).jpg20230514_182505 (resized).jpgQuoted from MikeO:Your game looks to have a full playfield mylar. Is that the case? Assuming so, your playfield has survived well. Are you planning to remove it?
yes mike, looks like day one mylar. not going to risk taking it up.
have since cleaned the playfield, also along the edges of the mylar, its hardly noticeable now.
Quoted from flipit:I just started my Surf Champ and it was an export game to France and also had mylar from day one. The mylar was cut around posts etc just like yours. Was you game orginally an export? The mylar cam off easy and there was no ball track mark in the upper arch. Buffed the playfield and now it looks NOS. Interesting side note, once the mylar was off I used 91% alcohol to remove the glue. The inserts were sunk in and I wanted to level them. The alcohol apparently loosened the glue and I was able to remove all of the inserts with my finger in the matter of a minute. I was not able to budge the inserts prior to the alcohol.
i'm in australia - the game is stamped 'australia' on the relay board, so looks like it came here new
Quoted from Playdium:Is there supposed to be a lamp shield for these 2 bulbs?
[quoted image]
PBR stocks these - see half way down the page
https://www.pbresource.com/signatur.html
Also it's an awesome game! Waiting for Backglass Resto to redo the backglass
Quoted from Colsond3:I need to get some of those too. Of course this is missing them. PBR might have some laying around.
Thanks JR and Bruce. It looks like red legs until I find wooden ones.
the ones you need for your game are these: https://www.pbresource.com/signatur/gtb-A3889.jpg
there is a difference between the single and multi player cigarette holders
Gottlieb Double-Shuffle from 1949. As it's warming up here in Australia time for the 1st cabinet repaint.
Got 3 done last year, North Star, Baseball and Grande Domino.
This game was bought off ebay and mostly works. So pulled the game down and started on the paint. Huge job ahead.
Not only is the original design gone.
So have the head stripped, onto the body on Friday.
Missing lockdown bar and side rails, have rails.
20230826_171502 (resized).jpg20230927_164456 (resized).jpgQuoted from Mopar:I'm not sure how rare D.S. is, but years back, Dave Silverman was lacking only
a couple of the Gottlieb woodrails, with D.B. being one of them. Back then being
primarily into Wedge Heads, I traded him for my 1st Flipper Cowboy.
The glass was missing a chunk from the upper left corner. My Graphic Designer
reproduced the glass. This was before I had a digital camera. It came out nice.
Wish I had pics..
Thanks for that. I did contact another member of Pinside and got photos from side on, front and side of head.
So will be able to use those (was a draftsman back in the day, those skills really help).
