Quoted from BleacherBum:

Thank you for your comments. I got my impression from other Pinsiders posts and restorations. I got a little carried away and ended taking everything completely apart. Might skip that next time.
Instruction labels were largely reproduced from file available on Inkochnito’s Pinball Cards web page http://www.pinballrebel.com/pinball/cards/ His page is hosted by Pinball Rebel. He doesn’t charge for using the files but, does ask for a donation if you like his work. I did send him some money. A couple I had to reproduce on my own. I did this in Word.
For the coil labels, I used a green craft paper that sort makes the originals. The original were very dirty so matching 100% was not in my wheel house. The originals appeared to have a shine to them so, I cover the craft paper with clear packing tapes and then trimmed to size.
For also other labels, I purchased some card stock that was off white.

So all the relay labels, the long strips that tell you what the relay is, are original? Peter doesn't have those on his website that I know of.

I don't know that you went too far. I've been known to take score motors apart to polish them. I don't do it every time but once in awhile you get a wild hair...

Those I had to remake. I do not have to capability of print long strips so, I had to staple shorter strips together. I am sure I have those files somewhere if you need a copy.

I pretty much had to disassemble everything as very little worked. It was kind of a mess.

Well, I sold my TZ so I don't need them now. But what font you used would be extremely useful

#2554 2 years ago

I used this font “Calibrate” for the relay long strips. This is looked pretty darn close to my eye. It was the best of the fonts I had available. When holding them next to each they are hard to tell apart.

1966 Gottlieb Central Park. Restored by me including cabinet repaint to original design in 1994. Cleaned and waxed, new rings installed 2022. Also installed new Pinball Rescue plastic set. Removed 2 balls and switched to 3 balls per game just to try something different.

Working on a Sea Shore Pin with very rusty legs. Soaked them overnight in vinegar and next day rinsed, wiped, and lightly buffed with Mother's mag and alum with a hand towel. I have used evaoporust in the past but the vinegar is a whole lot cheaper and thought the results were comparable. I bought the cleaning vinegar at Home Depot for $2 a half gallon but any white vinegar should work.

Hope Depot says 6%. They also have 30% vinegar but I wanted to try the regular first and it worked great.

1977 Williams Lucky Seven being stripped for pf restoration. Everything worked except the “Game Over” light in the back box. Gigantic screw found holding a flipper bracket. Evidence of a coil fire in the past. Top side stripped. On the table for photos to be taken on the bottom side prior to disassembly. No screws holding down the light sockets. Those are not going to be the fun part.[att=6876021,2840533 caption74EEAD19-504A-469F-8DAD-557FD109D76F (resized).jpeg74EEAD19-504A-469F-8DAD-557FD109D76F (resized).jpegAC88F15D-CBEE-44F4-9DDD-FF661B09EB37 (resized).jpegAC88F15D-CBEE-44F4-9DDD-FF661B09EB37 (resized).jpegF20291F2-7C13-491E-B37D-DD63215D01E0 (resized).jpegF20291F2-7C13-491E-B37D-DD63215D01E0 (resized).jpeg381A41A0-8EC2-4527-B1DE-92FB1C9B6F53 (resized).jpeg381A41A0-8EC2-4527-B1DE-92FB1C9B6F53 (resized).jpeg=""]

New Flicker project. Major rust at the front of the machine, but past the first few inches it looks great inside.

Cabinet looks like it will clean up well. Picture shows a test spot cleaned with Mean Green Super Strength.

Looks like I'll have to remove the side rails to clean this one up. It will be my first time to remove side rails.

The lockdown bar mechanism is totally rusted. I'm going to have to break the glass and remove the play field from the other end.

Been working on Flipper Cowboy on and off and today after doing a little extensive
work on the Roto Target, she's all gone through and playing fine.
I got a couple of the cracks in a couple of the plastics looking okay by applying a
line of clear glue on the backside, but I'm still keeping an eye out for a set..

Flipper Cowboy

Do you have the bullseye target that the cowboy is shooting at on the BG animation?

#2572 2 years ago
Quoted from Flipsteen:

Actually, those are decals from Pinball Resource.
This is the first time I went through a Flipper Cowboy, but on one of the
Cowpokes, I sanded down the numbered targets, taped off and painted
them white, then my Vinyl Graphic Designer made the numbers. This time
I thought I'd check out PBR, so I hand sanded to make sure the targets
were fairly smooth, and not only looked good, the PBR vinyls are easy
to apply and has a protected outer film, so I'm sure they'll last for quite
some time..

#2573 2 years ago
Quoted from pinwiztom:

Are you asking if I have a spare Cowboy bullseye target?
I actually have an extra Flipper Cowboy, but besides a painted cabinet and
needing a good set of plastics, it's complete.
If that's what you were asking, it wouldn't take too much to make a target.
I can give you measurements if needed..

Working on a 1962 Gottlieb Olympics. First machine! Small issues so far. 10/100 coin reels, the 10/100;bell, a 1 pt bumper switch, replay feature, light bulbs, coin mech work, a good cleaning, and a new backglass.

I put in a good size order to PBR when ordering the Roto Target decals so I took
another look at the receipt, and they were $18.00. For me it was worth it, but in
your case having only a few numbers missing paint, you might want to try a black
and white new fine point Sharpie. I've used them on the 60s Metal Score Reels
and with the Score Reel on the table in a good position, I was able to touch them
up were you can't noticed. I think maybe you might be happy after taking that route..

Finishing up a major restoration project. This game was somewhat of a basket case. Original paint was in such bad shape, there was no choice but to repaint. Hand cut the stencils in poster board. All the usual stuff, plastics, drop target's, misc PBR parts. Everything rebuilt, replated, or regrained. Touched up and clear coated playfield. Plays rocket fast with DC flippers, pops and slingshot. The red is matte Fire Red (krylon rattle can), Heirloom White (Rustoleum) base color.

I'm taking a little breather from the Flipper Series and decided to go through
and sell (possible trade) a game. Since I have 2 of them and Chicago Coin's
Add-a-Ball Bronco seems to be rare, I'll shop one out and because they haven't
any already, I'll take a few photos and send them to IPDB so Jay can put them
up on the sight. The weather's looking better here on the east Coast, so Bronco
will probably be an on and off project..

I'm going to get the white sharpie. Do you think I need to cover with clear film or krylon spray after I use sharpie? Will the ball hitting the numbers chip off the sharpie ink? Thanks

I don't think it'll chip off the Sharpie, but putting a protective film over the numbers is a good idea.
I myself wouldn't use a spray. Since I have some on hand, I'd probably cut rectangular pieces of
clear vinyl at a size so they would fit the targets just above the rivets to the top of the targets.
Doing the same with clear mylar would be at least as good for protecting..

Just picked up a 1967 Gottlieb Super Score. Been sitting in a garage for 35 years and hadn't been plugged in for 15 years. It actually started a game although the score reels were very sluggish. Nice PF & BG made it a no brainer to buy.

The operator who sold this game for home use way back when spent a lot of time to make sure this never had another coin drop. Removed every part from the coin door inside, pulled the coin chutes and even riveted closed the coin entrances.

I'm ordering a new coin entrance plate from PBR, if anyone can spare some coin chutes I'll buy them. While this will never see a coin drop again, I'd like the front to at least show the round coin entrance by the coin entrance plate. If anyone has a crappy parts door that's attending Pinfest, PM me.

This morning I finished up C.C.'s Bronco's playfield, and the
machine has now been all gone through and playing properly.
I had this machine (actually two) for years. This is the Add-
a-Ball version, and somewhat recently I learned that the AAB
seems to be pretty rare, so I shopped one out and will be
sending pics to IPDB.
It's a decent playing game, but I like all 4 of the Gottlieb True
2 Player AABs better. (Just noticed. Need to put on the Pop
Bumper Caps)..
btw: if anyone happens to have the addition instruction card
(saying when/how added balls are earned), I'd appreciate a pic,
or otherwise I'll have a couple made just going by game play..

I have seen several of these posted for sale lately. I am hoping to add the resetting drop target mod as I did on my 2001. It's a different set up as there is no trip bank, so will have to change the logic. Plays 100% after a full restoration.
