I know what you mean. I had to go through an OXO, which was my first four player em. Have fun!

Quoted from stashyboy:Looking great Tim! What did you use to protect the playfield and how are your lockbar end caps? Assume the glass is from Shay?
Tim? Me no Tim . But I appreciate the kind words.
Playfield was a quick auto clear. Didn't try to touch up that one area because the apron covers it.
Lockdown bar caps are per usual for these games. Rough. Being replated.
It's now 100 percent up and running outside of the lockdown bar being fixed.

Looks great! Sorry for the confusion.
Quoted from Mopar:After playing for quite a few years, you can accomplish such feats within
a couple three games..
Haha. No, actually I manually set that score just to give it a little personal
personality..
I did the same with Friendship the day it went in the line up, and showing
it's with its close relative (1964) Palooka..

Would LOVE to own a Friendship 7 someday. What a great machine.

Wow, that grass grew quickly on the ten yard line. I think Grid Iron is a great looking game, perhaps a better art package than Pro Football, but gameplay is not as good as Pro Football imo. The metal spinners are superior to the later plastic. Yes, I have added weight, but still not great. I found I enjoyed Time Zone more than I thought I would. A worthy pursuit on a less appreciated game.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Started waxing and it’s looking pretty good. Shame is it has some pitting in the paint. I’m sure I’m the first person to clean the playfield since 1977. Ball was extremely dirty.
Coincidence or did you see my wish list? My second pin was a Space Time and regret letting it go. Great art and the Time Tunnel is very cool for an EM. If anyone has one that is sitting around I would be very interested.
Wiring harness off the flat cardboard and back on the pf. So far 2 switches have needed adjustment. Easier to do now than later. Usually taped screws to part being removed for easier installation later. Got it wrong on a light bar though. Didn’t look right. If I had used that screw, it would have punched through the pf. I still have hardware from a couple games I parted out pre-internet. I needed some of that hardware tonight. Also bought a long-nose staple gun to hold the tinned braid out of the way. I should have bought one a long time ago. I’m going to have to turn down the air pressure on the gun. Wow!
Looks like I got about 17% of the pf wired and the relay bank tightened down.
Quoted from Peruman:Getting closer to powering up this Lucky Hand. Soldering the pop bumper lamp sockets is next.
[quoted image]
I have a new plastic set for that machine. PM if interested.
Gotta love 4 player jobs. Fast Draw getting a complete rebuild. Lots of time spent to properly restore multi player games. It’s no wonder the a single players are most collected. They did make these jammed back boxes modular though. That’s nice for breaking it down. Here I’m redoing the back box sockets. New sockets are a must any more, I’m over having to repeatedly open up a restored game to jiggle an intermittent light bulb.

Installed the rest of the wiring harness and smoke tested it on the game for the first time. Short in upper pf lamp socket resolved, and pf lights are back to normal brightness.
I begin all my restorations with a working game, especially pf swaps and restorations, as a bookmark of sorts to see where I messed up. This game started and worked first time. All functions worked except white star. Extra ball and special illuminate, but special does not award replay. I suspect it is white star relay in relay bank.
Playfield rails and upper arch installed.

Resolved last two discrepancies. White Star was a poor light socket connection, and Special not awarding replay was simple operator error. With game running 100%, I repopulated the playfield and ran a few test games. The bumpers were sluggish at best prior to tear down. I usually don’t replace coils, only sleeves. But this time I decided to try Pinball Resource Yellow Dot bumper coils. Huge improvement and overall, the game plays fast.
After all this I noticed that the number match was not illuminating at end of game. Cleaned the 00-90 pcb’s and contacts with no result. I’ll try the player unit tomorrow. Restoration, with the exception of the match problem, complete.
(And Thanks to kangourou for the Gottlieb-never-made-it playfield plastic.)
Update: Match fixed with PBR lamp socket cleaner and 10 new lamps.

My Super Straight kicked my tail for almost 2 years. I had to walk away from that machine in frustration so many times I shopped out two other machines while taking breaks from it. I think the unrolled schematic is taller than I am.
Good news is the game is fast, furious, brutal fun once you have it all dialed in!
20220201_203934 (resized).jpgAlright got super straight MOSTLY working!!
Need to get feature lights up and running and add more than 1 player but much better off than it started. Here's a quick play by play of what it needed.
Got this one setup after it sat untouched for almost a year. Will be nice to work on a pinball that is not a Gottlieb. The last four before this one were Gottliebs.
Forgot to take a picture before stripping it down. PF is OK, previous owner tried to touch it up. Plastics are WAVY. BG is good. All steppers are seized up. Could not fire it up because Bally fuse holders.
Should be a fun one.

I had that title in the past, and the spinners were a blast to rip through. Good luck.
Quoted from Vintage-Pinball:I'm making cab stencils for a '64 WMS River boat. Doing them to the original pre-production drawings although there's no view of the head's face, so I'm going with the flyers picture. If anybody knows if the head's face differed, please let me know.

Finally after 4 years of looking at my never installed WK Sky Jump playfield, I decided to have it clear coated before I install it. I have to say that if a WK PF isn't beautiful enough, when you have one professionally clear coated, it becomes something of a masterpiece.. I will post a few more pics when its done.
BTW the pics don't do it justice..

I’d like to see more of this one. I hope you do a restoration thread.
New Playfield installed. Here's a list of things done..
New Wade Krause Playfield
WK Playfield Professionally Clear Coated
New Plastics
New Rubbers
New Drop Targets
New Ball
New #47 Lamps everywhere
One thing I am amazed at is how well it plays with the CC and how quiet it is too.

I just shopped out Bally 4 Million B.C. I’ve shopped out Williams Pat Hand, Spanish Eyes and Klondike in the past few weeks.
I am shopping out machines that I have restored 20+years ago. They all played okay, but the rings were turning to dust. Repairing stripped screw holes, polishing metal, and cleaning and waxing playfields.
Bally Nip It is next.
Quoted from Silverstreak02:I’d like to see more of this one. I hope you do a restoration thread.
yes I will be doing a full restore thread. I’ve started but haven’t posted my progress yet as I’ve been under the weather the last few days. Stay tuned.

I’ve got one of these I’m looking forward to restoring this year. Good luck. Looks like a very nice example.

Great game, love mine that I refurb'd from sitting in a guys front yard under a tarp.
Just starting to dig into the Double Barrel I have been sitting on for almost a year. Amazingly it played pretty well when first fired up. But otherwise it's a mess. Looking forward to getting it cleaned up and looking better. Which that said, all pics I can find show a metal lock down bar. This game came with a wood bar, with holes and wear pattern showing it had something attached to the top of it. Which of course I forgot to take a picture of it. If anyone knows what lockdown bar this should have, please let me know.
It also came with the large economy size schematic.
Thankfully with a little careful work, what looks like old mold is coming off of the pf pretty well.

Looks like an interesting game, don’t think I’ve ever seen one before. I’d be interested to hear how much fun it is to play when you get it finished.
