I bit the bullet and bought the stencil from Pinball Pimp. I had no trouble with bleed. I used Rustoleum 2X Brilliant Blue amd Molotow Mad Psycho Pink.
Finished Quick Draw restoration. Added to my em lineup. New clearcoated playfield, new backglass, plastics, posts, light sockets, cabinet restore to original, playfield glass, coin door. I have too much in it but it’s a keeper.

I do a similar thing for the "no coins needed" fix. A Big yellow wire with a tag on it that explains what it is. Nice and easy to find and reverse if somone wants to.

Nice work, all the Satin Dolls I've ever seen are beat to a pulp, nice job! Let us know what it pulls at the auction. I did up a Bally Flip Flip that won on a > 5K bid at my son's school. Crazy what a bit of alcohol and a bunch of worked up folks can do once the competitive juices start flowing... in my case two drunk guys bid it up from 1500!!

Keeney Poker Face is done (except for the plastics my wife is helping with now); ready for York. One of five flipper games Ed Krynski designed prior to moving over to Gottlieb. Despite the drawbacks - Inferior mechs, poor start/reset circuit design, no match feature, only one bell, impulse flips (modded them to dual wound), and a klunky feel during play, it's not a terrible game. Next owner can spruce it up with a cab repaint.
Big shout out to Tom C. for a beautiful repro BG, just fantastic in all respects.

Just finished a '67 Apollo. It was in bad shape after being unused for almost 30 years but after refurbing the cabinet and playfield and new Bgresto backglass and new legs, its alive again and saved from the graveyard. Sorry about the image quality, its playfield colours are brighter than they look.

Well, after doing 6 straight woodrails the past couple months,
I have a mid 60s Gottlieb true 2 Player AAB on the table..
This is a sample machine, and I have a strong feeling that all
U.S. version Hyde Parks were samples..
I know of one other that was found in a basement (had to of been a
damp basement, looked pretty rough) but it was definitely a U.S.
version.
This one's pretty decent and it's the next rainy day(s) project..

It's like my poor ASTRO. That machine seems to have been the pride of someone's life, but they never cared for it properly. Everything was original and unkept, much bent or broken, the playfield worn down to wood. A tragedy! Yet a triumph to see people doing restorations, however thorough.
Right now a Centigrade 37 for a client. I was stumped for quite a while as to why the game wouldn't do squat. When I lifted the playfield it kinda sort of worked. Put the playfield down, nothing. Then I discovered this. The wiring harness ran right over the top of the prop rod bracket. That's been crushed/pinched/cut for a while.

You need to get aggressive and sand out the scratches. Depending on how deep they are, I would start with 80 grit sandpaper mounted on a palm sander and sand the entire area of each rail. Then move up to 120, 150, 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 and THEN you can go to the buffing wheel or just hand polish with 0000 steel wool with Mothers Mag polish. The rails will come out to a near-mirror finish.

Get one of these, chuck it in your cordless drill, and you will be done with nicely refinished side rails.

Original. You can see the wear around the pops. I'm not skilled enough to mess with that. I did use Magic Eraser to clean up the swirl marks.

It was certainly played to almost to death. Many Apollo playfields suffered wear but this one was by far the worst I've ever seen! It also had a fire underneath where a pop coil had locked on so I had to deal with the burnt wiring, etc.

Thanks for posting that. I’m doing 6 rails tonight, for the first time, and needed hope.

I meant to say you will be able to redo the grained finish on two side rails in less than 10 minutes with this flapper.

Anybody have a clue where this bar/bracket (pictured) goes? I disassembled a year ago, and now have no clue as to it’s purpose.

I don't think that piece belongs to that game. It's for a wooden lockdown bar on a woodrail game. Check the underside of your lockdown bar. That one has the stud and wingnuts, so I don't know; maybe it does go on the lockdown bar?

You know what? Good call! I also have a Miss Annabelle torn down, and somehow that part wound up in the FC pile.
