I want to say a huge thank you to Murphdom as I just got a box of nice new parts this morning from the states. Took 24 days.
I have a shiny new 5 inch bell for my Lady Luck now, yay. As well as flipper buttons and a new tilt bob. I'll get them installed soon.
Many thanks for the parts Chris.
Cheers, Mal

24 days? No wonder USPS was so cheap compared to everyone else. They were only about 14+ days off in their estimated time line.
You get what you pay for, lol. Estimates are way off nowadays with Covid. People are getting tons of stuff posted so the postage system is swamped. At least over here it is.

Just so happens I'm doing a Cowpoke at the moment also, the cabinet is solid, but some idiot glued carpet to the entire body before I got it, so I've been redoing it for awhile, just recently started painting the rather difficult pattern, (without stencils) got one side just about done so far.

I'm thinking of tiles for the next one for you.
38580461-marble-stone-texture-with-checkerboard (resized).jpgI have a nice Cow Poke - just need the dang "Roto-Target" ...anyone? I had posted an ad earlier, but saw all this Cow Poke talk..lol
Someone had gently "placed" a 3 target unit in the machine and I bought it in a bundle deal, never even looked at the game. Opened it up and the wires had been cut and they were even on the wrong side from where they should go.
So I have a Roto-target (3 target switches) if someone is in need, willing to trade for the correct one needed here. Photos of roto target I have available.

Where did your Cowpoke come from. Way back, my first Cowpoke had (I think brownish) carpet glued on
it, then sold it after getting in another. I think one of the mid-states it went to..

Pinball Rescue site says Australia Post is still suspended Economy Air. A bunch of us here were able to get some parts from them by going together and having Lee and Gordon ship the stuff FedEx and then Pinhead52 reshipped to all of us. Probably a bit higher total shipping than normal but when you need stuff you need stuff.
The said they're looking into alternatives. Sure hope so.

Yes, you need to use ups or dhl or fedex to get stuff airshipped

Not a clue how the pic of that N.S. got in there (?)
Quoted from Karl_Hungus:Getting ready to bring my Royal Flush back to life. Been with me for 40 years!
Nice, it's a great game. I pulled my Card Whiz out of storage with the intent of moving it along, but once I had it set up and playing again, I figured I'd just have to keep it .. at some point I'm going to have to make some tough decision tho.. sigh_.

Bought it in Washington State, so probably not the same one, but who know where he might have gotten it from! Always wondered what kind of carpet was attached!!
Quoted from dgpinball:Bought it in Washington State, so probably not the same one,
Not sure. It could have been Washington State. It was like 4 Cowpokes ago. I remember getting
it in with a crappy sealed glass, so I replaced it and sent it out with a repro glass..
No idea how the pic of the N.S.'s playfield got in that post. I never hit the attach pic..
I picked up a freebie Williams Aces & Kings several weeks ago. The previous owner had no idea how to turn it on other than pressing the start button, and asked me "what's that switch?" when I flipped the machine onto its back. Cabinet is okay, coindoor cleaned up well, backglass has just the beginnings of flaking, plastics are good, playfield has its share of wear.
Had no idea what to do with it, was thinking of parting it out but I hate to see any potentially savable/playable pins chopped up, so I've been taking parts off piece by piece and cleaning and de-rusting them while I decide. When I turn it on for the first time after sitting a while, it lights up and hums, and that's it. If I turn it off an on again, it starts resetting everything but never gets there; it'll just keep trying and trying and trying to reset. No idea what could possible be the problem as I have no experience with EM's at all.
Yes, I hope to fix it but I might as well try to learn Chinese while I'm at it. If anyone can help other than pointing me to the online guides I already know about, I'd be extremely grateful. Also, now that I'm pulling mechs to clean them up, I'm noticing detached wires that I've no idea where they might go, so if anyone else here has an Aces & Kings, *please* pm me if you wouldn't mind looking at some photos to identify where these wires/terminals should go.
For now, more metal polish and baths in Evaporust.
Quoted from dgpinball:Other game I'm working on right now is a Big Hit, been sitting for a lot of years!! Just about everything needed cleaning, adjusting or repairing, but it's going to be a nice game when done. Little overdue for new rubbers I think too!!

chip board pf do not clean with water base cleaner!
Hello all, kinda new around here. During the mid 70s i used to ride my bike all around town to play pinball so I am fond of the ems from that time period. I have a Bally Knockout currently and it is a cornerstone of my living room. Had a Spirit of 76 I rescued back in the late 90s that I loved but sold everything i could to buy a house when the 2nd wife got prego. So last year i finally found this Knockout and picked it up DOA. A little bit of work and a tune up kit and i was playing again. I play it just about every day. Still have two minor play issues to troubleshoot when I find time, a fail to chime with one bumper and a start/reset button lag. Hopefully I can find another job soon so I can keep it and fully restore it to pristine condition.
Cowpoke in work

Doing the work for one of my regular clients. He is really good at hunting stuff down like that. Have already secured decals, replacement Playfield, pewter cannons and search lights, upper back glass and I think he said something about the blue mirrored back glass. Wiring has been cut to the solenoids under the Playfield as well as the lights in cannons and searchlights.
#gay-90s paint job done
Painted with laser-cut 3mm MDF stencils. I used an Iwata LPH-80 102G spray gun and Dulux Diamond latex paint. Used a Porter-Cable pancake compressor; it has to refill periodically but the LPH-80 has very low CFM requirements and sprays at only 10 PSI. I thinned the paint a bit with water and added Floetrol. Don't think I'll use rattle cans any more.
Silver splatter is done with Createx Silver and an airbrush with the cap removed at around 7 PSI, by pulsing the trigger.
If anyone out there has a Gay 90's waiting to repaint I can send you the stencils.

Man I can see a lot of trash in the paint with that high resolution picture....just like looking in the mirror, don't look too close! Have to paint outside unfortunately. Get the overspray look and no discernible ridge between colours.
The art is a little quirky which is replicated in the stencils (stuff being a bit crooked).

You're being too hard on yourself. You have achieved the perfection you were looking for - factory appearance regarding splatter and overspray. The slight misalignment is no different than the factory either.
Well done.
Quoted from Peruman:Picked this up today, I love spinner games so I'm looking forward to getting it playing again. There are a couple other projects sitting in front of it, but it's always good to have too much to do rather than not enough.

I was looking at that as well. Good price for it. Was it tough getting it out of the basement?
Quoted from Playdium:I was looking at that as well. Good price for it. Was it tough getting it out of the basement?
There was some pivoting involved (Friends reference) but no issues for two people. Only about 6 steps to deal with.
Waiting on a parts order to complete Jungle Queen. She became 100% functional today. Well, 99%. The credit wheel will not subtract credits. It will add them fine, but when starting a game the credit number stays the same. Will have to dig into that on the schematics.
This can't be right, can it? This is the ball gate assembly from a '70 Williams Aces and Kings. Looks like the half with the gate has been twisted about 15 degrees from the part that mounts to the arch, but there's no sign of tool marks or scratches. Gate half is also pointing up a little. Looks like it came like this from the factory, and a couple of photos I've found of same-era machines look like a similar bend, though they are very poor photos. Even the IPDB "upper playfield" photo looks like a bent gate bracket. Is this correct?

Started on Wizard. Back and bottom boards need replaced as does the mounting plate for the pedestal. Fractured in two places.
Whoever decided to use particle board for the back panel should have a special place reserved in hell. That part of the cab takes the most abuse and they use junk that disintegrates once a piece gets knocked off.

So what is the reason than chip board was used for the ends ??? Cost savings for 4 SF x 13,000 machines a year and / or a sinister planned obsolescence time bomb designed to be triggered once the game was shoved into the warehouse on its end?
Still chugging away
