While not a pinball, I've had 4 Genco Davy Crockett rifle gallery games sitting around for about 5 years now. A few years back I sent the only good glass out of 5 that I had to bgresto and they did a glass restoration of it for me (which is also available on their site). I think it turned out great. I just pulled all of them out of storage this weekend and got one of them up and running in about 4 hours.
All 4 of the cabinets have been painted over, so I'll probably end up having to strip them all (a little test section was done on the one in the photo) to get enough good parts to put together for a full stencil set. They should look great when they are re-stenciled with the new back glasses from bgresto. There is also a good example of each cardboard part inside the "gallery" to create a whole set and have reproduced. I'll be looking in to getting that done some day as well.
Pretty simple EM game from 1956. 2 steppers (one for shots taken and one for hits made) and about 6 relays in the back box. 5 chicken drop down targets, 4 cow drop down targets, each with only a couple switches to clean and adjust, and a moving Indian head that drops back when you give a shot to the face. There are only a couple switches on this as well. Transformer with silenium rectifier, and 3 fuses. I think that's about it for the whole game!
I think it took more time to clean and shine up the Jones plugs than anything else! I like to use the dremel with one of the car wash looking wheels to shine them up real nice. It's like using sand cloth on a copper pipe to remove the oxidation before soldering.
I haven't worked on any EM games in quite some time and only have one EM pinball left, a Gotlieb Playball, that needs a little tweaking. There's about 15 pitch and bats, and 15 rifle games, along with an Air Ball, and Marksman shooting gallery and some other odd ball EM games to work on though. The pins got a little repetitive for me and I like the challenge in figuring out the different types of games. Gangbusters and Haunted House are giving me some trouble though.
Love the ball bowler I have, and have had several puck bowlers over the years, but went to a SS puck bowler to avoid all of those damn score reels. Ugh... the hours! Ohhh.... and recently did a trade for a United Comet Deluxe Shuffle Targette. Those are a good fun combo of a shuffle alley and skee ball in one. If any one needs photos of parts or labels from EM stuff let me know and I'll see if I have it to get you photos. For now, here's the first Davy Crockett up and running with a photo of the new and old back glass.
