    Quoted from Whysnow:

Curious, what is the logic on this?
Or is there just no logic?
Do people that think “virus coming, must get more guns and ammo” really believe we are just one step from the point where they are going to need to start shooting everyone? Have to hunt for food? Defend the homestead from zombies?
What is the thinking? Genuine curious

It's just an insurance policy against a worst case scenario.
We had riots here in Baltimore not to long ago, and it was scary. Lot of businesses broken into, fire bombed and destroyed.
Nobody is predicting anything like that, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared for something that could happen

Amazing the percentage of the population that is ill-prepared for even basic self defense.
Any situation is possible, when people reach extreme panic

We are not there yet, but the current situation just proves how quickly society can degrade to the point of desperation.
When people become desperate, the act irrationally
When a virus wave hits us with one that kills indiscriminately - those with guns and stocked ammo will be very happy they did.
Having seen what can happen during the Baltimore riots, you don't want to be without the insurance of guns and plenty of ammo.
