    I can understand a pin (or a finishing nail) behind a leaf switch, but why are there pins / nails against the rail where a ball will never hit?

    Any harm if I remove them ?

    Stop the plastics from sagging.

    Nice view of the fine webbing on the cabinet of Heat Wave.

    Look at this way, like you said they are out of the way, can't harm anything so just leave them as intended.

    Straighten them out. Put a dab of glue on them on top(plain white glue) let that dry.
    This will help them not scratch underside of plastics in long run.

    Great tip! There is already some damage done, but so it goes.
