I realize we are pinball nuts and some would say what we spend our time and money and energy on is kind of stupid.

But I’ve seen somethings that are so far out there that it makes pinball collecting seem normal.

For example there are people who spend countless time and effort to solve a Rubic’s cube in the shortest time. As in 5 seconds (?).

Give me what you got. Either stuff you do or collect that’s not too mainstream. Or something other people spend way too much time on.

I play WoW. I know it’s not that crazy since it’s a popular game. I go thru phases with it though. Play a bunch for a week or so then won’t play for 2 weeks.

Cutting the grass.i never understood people that cut there grass 2-3x a week.i live in a rural area so most people around here just cut a section of grass around the house and not the entire plot of land but I have a neighbor and a friend down the road that literally spend 8+ hours a week usually broke up in 2-3 days cutting their lawn. I'm not sure how they know where to cut since it hasn't even grown enough to make a difference my only thought is their wives have to be total cunts and thats their only escape.

Sometimes my neighbors mow twice in a day. The record is three times.

Buy an old lawn tractor and put big Ag tires on it. Goes great through woods and creeks, cheaper than 4-wheelers. Vintage Wheel Horse and Jacobsen have the best transmissions.

I have been mowing lawns for over 50 years, and I love gardening.
However, Lawns, to me are the biggest waste of everything!!!
If we could eat what we cut, or feed livestock with it, Great!
For ornament, and its cost....what a waste of time.

Around here, tall grass attracts ticks, so it's usually recommended to cut as much grass as possible.

Horses love grass, and they will mow down a lawn in no time flat. If you know of any horse owners nearby and want your grass cut, invite them over. The horse gets a free meal, and you get your lawn done

You are dead wrong here !!! I am on a 3 year winning streak at Motorcity Casino in Detroit the last time I lost money there was 2016(havent been in 2020) I only play poker because I don't like gambling but poker is like pinball and some people are just better. I'll probably never beat Rosa or Grabowski at pinball but I doubt they'd ever beat me at the poker table.this fake pandemic has really cut into my free money.

I don't win a lot at a time just $100-300 at a time and get out with my winnings.if you're good at poker and not greedy its easy to make a.couple hundred per sitting.

Poker is one good example of how you can win consistently if you play against lesser skilled players. My buddy who consistently won at our home game. He started going to casino and won most times. Not hugely win but you could think of it as a job as he’d win so many dollars an hour.

I could play poker to make some money but it’d be small earning so it’d be a side hustle I doubt I’d be able to make a living at poker but could make some money by playing against lesser skilled players.

Cutting the grass.

I used to spend 3+ hours a week cutting my grass (with headphones with Led Zeppelin), and enjoyed it greatly.

When I moved in with my (now) second wife, I came to understand that the enjoyment I was getting from cutting my grass was being away from Wife 1.0 for 3+ hours.

I've been using a lawn service for almost 25 years now.

A retired neighbour a few houses down goes out everyday and neals on his lawn. Removes weeds and cuts parts of his front lawn with scissors. And cuts it wth the mower every Saturday. He also hoses his driveway down. I Don't understand it. But I guess it's his thing.

He does have a very nice lawn though.

I like those guys who can do a Quake speed run to can get a level to the exact frame hundredth of second perfect. I mean ok but would you want to go the same level thousands of time?

I’m bad enough to be watching this stuff but still get a life man.

#27 3 years ago

I have a neighbor that mows his lawn at least twice a week, even though almost nobody sees it. I have lived next to him for 14 years and I can't remember the last time he talked to me about anything but lawn care. He will go out of his way to point out some rogue weed on my property. Yea... I don't spend a lot of time relaxing outside except after dark.

I collect books all kinds, comic books, literature, Sci-fi and nonfiction. I have been collecting for like 40 years and have a huge collection only have read a fraction. Don’t know if I’ll ever be able to read even half of them. I don’t know why but I can’t bring myself to get rid of them. We just moved must have been 80+ banker boxes.

I think that last record for Doom E1L1 speedrun took 50,000 tries or so. That's nuts.

Sometimes i can hear my neighbours shouting and screaming at each other. Then the man of the house gets out, stars doing the grass for the third time this week. I think it's for a lot of guys a way to breath fresh air, escape reality.

I smoke A LOT of weed. You don’t want to know how many NIB games games worth I’ve spent on grass over the last 20+ years. I honestly think I could keep up with the best of them, willie Nelson, snoop dog, wiz Kalifa, Tommy Chong, ya I smoke a lot. It might be the only thing keeping me normal, And allowing me to function as an adult. it helps me get through each day and worth every penny spent.

Heck, even Fox news will acknowledge it's a pandemic.

I'm cornering the market on 1998 Harley-davidson velo glide ultra bicycles converted into ebikes. Gary Turner GT bikes made 1000 of these in 1998 for harley-davidson. I have 2 more in process of being converted for a total of 4. These bikes are great for conversion as they were made well. They have 1500 watt mid drive bafang motors with 20 AH batteries in one of the saddlebags.

Ultimately everything we do is stupid and pointless. If some stupid and pointless thing you do gives you satisfaction, that’s good enough.

Of course if you’re selfless enough to spend some of your time helping others, that’s next level and you should be proud of that.

Casinos are great if you:
A: Have patience and self control
B: Know your odds and don't make sucker bets

I probably spend $50-$100 a month on birdseed.
Three feeders in the front of the property and four in the back yard.

Mainly Dove, Quail, Cactus Wrens and various small birds like Finches. Occasionally get Cardinals which are really cool. Rabbits eat a lot of what winds up on the ground, as do the local deer.

I see people at the waterside sitting in camouflage tents in army clothes with beeping electronics attached to ther fishing rod, then sending out a boat to drop bait and the lure.
Then thay start making espresso moccachino with some kind of solar panel operated machine waiting for the beeps of the rod.

I'm not a fisher, not for a long time annymore but seems a little mutch to catch a tiny fish

Where is the time you just went on your flipflops with some beers a beercrate stool and a bamboo rod.

Lol appreciate the humor but it’s in nearly every f’ing county in the world. It’s a pandemic by any definition of the word. That’s not fake, Period. Come visit some of the hospitals that are at/over capacity. But sorry to hear it’s cut into your poker profits, that must really bite.
