    Or both?

Anyone ever try to chemically clean leaf switches to brighten them up? Polishing with a small dremel would work but time consuming, would be faster to dump an entire batch into a solution(minus diodes, or other items like tension plates the screws go in). Thoughts?

First I'd have to ask, why? The only important parts of the switch are the contacts and the soldered connection. EMs and high voltage switches of SS pins the contacts are tungsten. Low voltage on SS games the contacts are gold plated. Leaves are copper plated.

Not sure about chemical cleaning, but polishing gold contacts too much could burn through the plating causing more harm than good.

Neither. Spring temper nickel silver, phosphor bronze, beryllium copper, stainless steel.

Copper and brass don't make good springs because they can't be heat treated.

The question is purely curiosity. Plus its nice having fresh looking leaf springs when doing restorations.

I use MS-70 Industrial coin brightener. Especially good with gold contacts.

Your local coin store may sell it.
