Quoted from ThatGuy:

I like the classics: Ms. Pac-Man, Galaga, Centipede, Return of the Jedi and my pride and joy - a Star Wars cockpit. Two different pics of the four arcades at different times in the evolution of my Star Wars game room.

That Star Wars cockpit looks sweet !

Quoted from HighProtein:Quite a few of these were in pizza places when these came out right?

Yes! PizzaHuts in eastern Pa had them in their waiting area.
They had L or U shaped bench seating for customers and a couple machines in the middle of the space.
I don’t remember playing/seeing cocktails in the regular arcades.
I have (3)cocktails and love them all.
Anyone have any they want to sell?
please PM me if you do!

This is the listing from the completed E-bay transaction. I have a Shoot the Bear that I have to finish before I move onto this.

I really want a ray-o-lite machine. Had a chance to buy a sweet shoot the coon over 20 years ago and passed on it. It was double the cost of a new pinball machine at the time and I couldn’t justify the expense. This one was at an auction last year. Very cool!

Quoted from rod90:

Thanks for the pictures. It will help when I get around to fixing mine.
What did that end up going for?

I’m not sure but it was definitely more than I could afford.
Are you restoring the shoot the bear for yourself or do you plan to sell it?

Please post a few pics!

Why did you pass this rare gem. This is incredible

I think it sold for over $30,000.

Quoted from rod90:

I am nearing completion of my 5th Shoot the Bear. Actually, my 4th Bear and one Duck conversion. I will start on my Chicken Sam conversion upon completion. The Bear will be for sale. I have not decided on what to do with Chicken Sam.
It has been a long journey. Pictures and my progress are posted here.

Thank you for posting the link. You do amazing restoration work and do a great job documenting the process. Please send me a PM when the Bear is done and ready for sale.

I like the odd ball stuff. It is fun seeing adults go for a ride.

I had an opportunity to purchase a really nice Rudolph the reindeer kiddie ride about 25 years ago. It even had a nice original leather saddle. Looking back I wish I had bought it. Your Donald Duck is very cool!

Quoted from 29REO:

Wow! I’ve been doing this my entire life and bought many of these games new but I have never seen a Stern cocktail table video game.Sweet!

How much did video machines cost new “back in the day?”
I have fond memories of going to the arcade in the early 1980’s and there being lines/groups of 6-8 of each title because there were so many customers who wanted to play and not wait in line.

Few random pages from a 80s arcade magazine.

Thanks for posting!
What did the classics cost when they were brand new?
Defender, Robotron, Tempest, Centipede,Asteroids DLX, Galaga,Etc?
Also were cocktails more expensive than full size uprights?

Quoted from Strummy:

Do they still have one of these in Allentown? I haven't been in a few years. Thought it was cool. [quoted image]

At Ag hall where the Pinball Show is held or somewhere else?
I’ve never seen one there but it looks like a very cool kiddie ride. Do you own the one in the pic that you posted?

#4216 10 months ago
Quoted from Strummy:

It was in the farmers market. No I don't own one. The other kiddie ride reminded me of it.

I’d be tempted to buy it if I ever saw one but the low dome top would mean that only the cats would fit inside. I passed on a Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer kiddie ride many years ago and really regret it.

Quoted from Bohm:

Thanks for all the info, I'm going to go look at it tomorrow. I think it's interesting enough but it's my wife who really wants it. Having a game room full of expensive toys is a lot easier when your wife is on board.

It’s nice to mix it up and have a shooter in your gameroom. I have a House of the dead 3. Pinball rules but it’s always good to have some variety. I also have a Millipede cocktail machine. I don’t know if it’s the trackball or something else but the ladies seem to really enjoy it.
