After being out of commission for far too long, my Tempest is back among the living. In addition to these I also have two Rush the Rock sit down racers, a Neo Geo 4 slot and a Maximum Force/Area 51 combo that is getting sold Friday. Hoping to replace it with a Big Buck Hunter Pro Arcade — anyone have one for sale?
Quoted from Mrbill:When you say projects, which way you going? I assume to major havoc as the cab is dressed as tempest. I Think Takeman on klov made a panel for tempest to use the roller control. Keep an eye out for it at the repro controller. If you happen to be going the other way, the major havoc pcb and it’s tempest adapter is worth a ton of money.. good luck on the project.
Scott451 on KLOV made an FPGA boardset for Tempest that also plays Major Havoc and Omega Race (with Quantum to come later). I got the boardset last week but as it's an early adopter version there are still some bugs to work out -- one of them is certain spinner opto boards aren't compatible with it yet. He's sending me a replacement opto board, which should be here tomorrow. Once that's in I should be good to go.
Pretty impressive stuff as he reworked MH to work on a vertical monitor, so you can play it on a standard Tempest cab without modification.
Quoted from mmuglia:Picked this up in January. Been on the search for 20+ years!

Did you somehow connect the LCD monitor on top to mirror the game’s display?
Quoted from Schusler:Former environmental version
Yeah it’s chopped. Full environmental would be amazing but takes up so much room.
Quoted from Mrbill:yeah, but you have all there you need to run the rear speakers. you can put them on the ceiling or on poles. Factory cut edots had a metal plate to hide the marquee area. Maybe someone has done a repo. The added plus is you have the chaser lights in the cab and you have speech). The only downside is that its 1 player.
I had a water damaged EDOT and I gutted it and put it in my UR.
Yeah I found someone with a metal plate marquee, hopefully I can work out a deal. I like the idea of adding the rear speakers. Speech is a huge plus for me, and single player is no big deal as I’ll be playing solo 99% of the time. Have any pics of yours?
Quoted from j_m_:my neighbor just picked up 3 f-zero ax setups. those were heavy s.o.b.'s to move (each weighing in at 1,100lbs!) I think he'll be looking to sell at least one once he's gone through them all and got them running nicely
Are these the full sit down arcade cabs? What’s the location?
