I dunno'. I had this Pacman for years. Pulled out the wiring harness and put in an ArcadeSD card (and a new control panel) and love it.

#1863 6 years ago
Quoted from Mopar:

I have a quick question for you Arcade Guys. I'm 100% EM Pinball/Arcade but
have a Ms. Pacman where at start up, the screen has fuzzy white lines, and the
play meter just keeps counting. Actually this happens when it's first turned on.
Activating the coin switch doesn't do/change anything. Not sure, but a coin may
have gotten stuck leaving the coin switch closed. This is probably a problem in
the main board, right? (T)

Sure sounds like a good culprit.

If you are not comfortable diagnosing the board and/or repairing it, an exchange with Eldorado is a good option. My experience has been good.

Quoted from Mike_J:

Heading out to Long Island tomorrow to help my friend pick up a brand new Tempest.
This is the same family who sold my buddy their HUO AFG with certificate a few years ago.
These folks also have NIB models of Donkey Kong, Moon Patrol and Tron which they refuse to sell. It's kind of neat to know that these things exist just like the NIB Black Knights.

I love games that have a story. My Dragon's Lair was supposedly once owned by Joe Nuxhall from the Reds. I have no paperwork to prove it though.

Quoted from MustangPaul:

Cool. You have the Dexter board in it?

Yes, with the Merlin DX and the DL Trilogy.

#1903 6 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

Nice. My MACH 3 with Dexter won't go past the 3 rd line of the boot screen no matter what I do.

Have ever asked Shaun Wood what he thought? He's a great guy for helping trouble shoot laserdisc issues. I still wonder if one of his boards might help fix your problem.

Quoted from eb94114:

Does anyone have a nice Burgertime, Spy Hunter (upright or cockpit), or Food Fight you might consider selling?

3 of my absolute favorites. Burgertime is easy to emulate, but Spy Hunter and Food Fight need their own dedicated cabs. GREAT games.
I can still hear the Spy Hunter and Food Fight attract modes standing out from the rest.
And of course Sinistar... RUN Coward!

#1910 6 years ago
Quoted from gweempose:

Food Fight is my grail.

Mad Planets is my grail. I love that game.
It's like Robotron on steroids.

#1911 6 years ago

This thread had me look back at some of the games I regret selling. Wish I'd kept them all.

Wacko, Pole Position pair, Star Wars, Tron, Battlezone (full & mini), Mappy

Some of them, yes. They span over the past 15+ years. Retired and sold off most all.
I should have put the pins and vids in storage. (:

#1923 6 years ago
Quoted from moonwk:

Omg! That’s a great condition tron. Why would you sell that? I wish I could find one in that mint condition. Congratulations to the person who got that fantastic game.

Thanks! Yes, I had restored that game. Paint, decals, Encom package, control panel, joystick, spinner, etc. It was gorgeous.

Just curious, did you happen to pickup that Death Race from Kerry in Cincinnati? (The Retroarcade) He was selling a beautiful restored one that I wanted badly.

#1977 6 years ago
Quoted from snyper2099:

The one he sold was not restored at all. It was 100% original. It went to a pizza place in Indiana.

Now that makes me regret it even more. It was Cary wasn't it, not Kerry? Miss hearing from him since the arcade closed.
I bought my Dragon's Lair from him. He drove all the way to TN to delivery it and pickup a pin.
Super nice guy.

Quoted from PACMAN:

MAME's and Multi games are great for trying out lots of games but for some of these, the cabinet and controls help create the experience. Game like these, for example

Some are impossible to emulate with buttons and an 8 way. What a fantastic thing to see those games preserved.

A nice original Dragon's Lair. Working LD-V1000 replaced by the Dexter board and Merlin.
Now running the Dragon's Lair Trilogy. All versions of Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, and Dragon's Lair II.
Complete with original Dragon's Lair topper.

I do. But I still might do a switcher so I can play both.

In my DK cab, I used to have to pull the entire board set out and swap it to play both.

Quoted from PinDoctor82:

I loved this game growing up and now feel like I should have one in my gameroom, though some people today would probably find certain things a little offensive...haha.

- Evans' Ten Strike, about 1949
- Chicago Coin Basketball Champ, 1947
Against popular belief (many people mix up the 2nd and 3rd generation), the Ten Strike is actually a 3rd generation model. It's the last type that H. C. Evans produced before selling the rights for the game to Williams and going out of business in 1955.

Fandamntastic. Nuff said, can't say no more.

I currently own one pin and one full size arcade.. I’m looking to add another and looking in to any type of multicade machine.
The two games I most desperately want are probably Dragon’s Lair and Punch Out.
Does anyone have one with both the games I mentioned? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Dragon's Lair and Punch Out are so totally different I wouldn't think so.

Find a Dragon's Lair. LD player doesn't matter. Put in a Dexter board and Merlin DX card and you're good for the entire DL Trilogy plus Space Ace.

do you have any way of dumping the roms for this? also, a friend of mine has a midway cocktail but I think there's a problem with his roms and we've not been able to find the images of them anywhere (been looking for those for quite some time now)

Would the MAME roms not work? Pardon my ignorance.

Quoted from henrydwh:

Yes, it is a joystick grommet or centering grommet for a arcade joystick. They are not hard to find, but this one with the brass standoffs I am unable to find anywhere. I was curious if anybody in here had seen one before? I was toying with restoring the original joysticks that came out of my cocktail cabinet.

Aren't the standoffs removable to put on the new grommet?

#3221 2 years ago

That's crazy. Never seen one with the stand offs either.

I'd try putting the vice grips to them and twist! (:

#3226 2 years ago
Quoted from Viggin900:

Does anyone own BattleZone? Please send me a Pm. I have a few questions on whats it like to have.

A little one.

IMG_0422 (resized).jpegIMG_0422 (resized).jpeg

#3230 2 years ago
Quoted from henrydwh:

They just turn with vice grips. They look to have a rivet end that has been mushroomed in place!

Just a thought. Get a replacement grommet and new standoffs of the same length??
Or a new joystick all together since it is a conversion.

#3240 2 years ago
Quoted from henrydwh:

Here is the joystick that was installed when I bought it. If anyone is curious how the standoffs figured into this setup.
[quoted image]

Have you posted your question on the KLOV forums? You'll get an answer I can almost guarantee.

#3241 2 years ago

I'm still thinking a good soaking in Break Free might do it. Lock one end in a vise and the other will either come free or break.
What's to loose?

#3260 2 years ago
Quoted from Mrbill:

but open face battle zone is not fun.

I would disagree with that. I had it, sold it, and had to have it back.

#3261 2 years ago
Quoted from Mrbill:

dont kill a red barron! the boardset is different from battlezone, so its not a rom change. it does have the right wiring. but open face battle zone is not fun. If you were in the bay area, I have a project battlezone in in storage (Periscope version).

If you have the boardset, it can definitely be made whole again.

#3262 2 years ago
Quoted from xt101:

You are not wrong, and I am really not excited about chopping it up anyway, I may reconsider...But in the spirit of this 6 year old thread, I do also have a few other machines, and generally build a dozen or so at a time...This one is next into the shop...
