Quoted from snyper2099:You mean the "neck board". It's not that bad. The glue is close to the consistency of dried hot glue, just a but stiffer. If you get stuck, post questions, I've repaired and bulletproofed over 50 WG K6100 monitors. I am also hoarding a couple spares for the day you can't even find a broken one any more... Did you order an LV2000 pcb? http://www.vector-repair.com/
Thanks for confirming that the glue shouldn’t be an issue. I just don’t want to damage the neck.
Have the lv2000 ready to go along with the caps and transistors. Also have my HV probe on standby.
I like how the cutouts to grab the monitor from the front basically put your hands right on the anode cap.
When I took the glass and bezel off the front of the cabinet last night, I was surprised to see how clean the front of the screen was.
The person I got it from said they had it for over 30 years and used it periodically and only recently it stopped working. When I combine that with the lack of visible service on the monitor and boards along with how clean it was - I think this Tempest had a much easier life than most. It’s one of the p314 variants, so it was relatively early in the production run.
If I get stumped, I’ll send you a PM if you don’t mind.
