Anybody have or know where I can get a list of arcade games that use 2 way and 4 way joysticks?

Here is a good 4 way one.

Thank you for the quick response! I will give it a look!

I am still on the hunt for a 2 player Ironman Ivan Stewart Super Off Road arcade cabinet. I have seen several three players pop up but the 2 player I am finding difficult to find. The 3 player is a space killer for me and I want to find the 2 player version. If anyone has any leads-thanks in advance.

My latest pick up. An unrestored Moon Patrol, probably one of the cleanest I’ve seen around. It does have the HS kit which allows you to disable the continue feature. Really love this game, great Williams title.

That IS a nice Moon Patrol! I like ours a lot too. But let's talk about that Food Fight cocktail!!! LOL

That's exactly what I was going to say! lol It's my understanding that a food fight cocktail machine was not very common.

Thanks. Love my Foodfight. Atari only made 100 of them and can’t be that many around anymore. Mine came from an ex Atari employee that has no serial numbers and at one point had the prototype roms. Been trying to track that board down from the previous owners but no luck. I installed the TOG glass replacement and put the original away for safe keeping. Just a great playing game and reminds me of Robotron which I love and have.

More mame than arcade. But I built this over the last month.
I always wanted an Aliens extermination. So I decided to build one. I 3d printed a topper and some other stuff. And bought a cheap multi kit from China. And painted the guns.
The bottom is from an old xenophobe cabinet. And I threw a fridge in the bottom just to have one in the games room, and not waste space.

Plays house of the dead 3, farcry paradise lost, and aliens extermination.

Anybody ever seen one of these? I can find them without the standoffs all day long, but I can't find them with the standoffs.

Looks like a joystick grommet. What game joystick uses this grommet? KLOV is a great resource for arcade parts.

Cheers,

Cheers,

Yes, it is a joystick grommet or centering grommet for a arcade joystick. They are not hard to find, but this one with the brass standoffs I am unable to find anywhere. I was curious if anybody in here had seen one before? I was toying with restoring the original joysticks that came out of my cocktail cabinet.

Aren't the standoffs removable to put on the new grommet?

No, they are "stamped"(for lack of a better word) into place. It looks like it was produced this way.

That's crazy. Never seen one with the stand offs either.

I'd try putting the vice grips to them and twist! (:

I guess the question is: What game does this go to?

Quoted from girloveswaffles:

That's the 64000 dollar question! They were in a cocktail Space Invaders cabinet that was converted to something else along they way. When I bought the cabinet all that was in it was the 4 way joysticks and 1 button. Nothing Identifying what game might have been converted to!
Shot of cabinet and original label.

They just turn with vice grips. They look to have a rivet end that has been mushroomed in place!

Just a thought. Get a replacement grommet and new standoffs of the same length??
Or a new joystick all together since it is a conversion.

Have not found the standoffs yet, but I do have a new replacement grommet, so I will experiment. I just thought I would restore the "originals " and use them, but I already have new joysticks, thought I might get the true 4 way player feel. Thanks for everybody's input and information! Much appreciated.

Thats the size I need and have questions about. Is it as much fun to play without sticking your head into the window? I don't think a full size would fit in my basement, the smaller ones are hard to find.

Interesting considering that cabinet didn't even have joysticks when it was Space Invaders:
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

I wonder what the source for those joysticks was. I've never seen any grommets like that before. I've got to agree with Fulltilt and maybe just go with new joysticks. At least with something more common you won't have to worry about parts again later on.

That's it. I still have those player 1 & 2 buttons stashed somewhere. I switched over to the larger buttons.

Yeah, those original buttons were crap. Fortunately you can use the thumb button assembly in a Happ trigger joystick that uses a microswitch that's a good substitutepasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png.

Here is the joystick that was installed when I bought it. If anyone is curious how the standoffs figured into this setup.

I'm still thinking a good soaking in Break Free might do it. Lock one end in a vise and the other will either come free or break.
What's to loose?

Todd Tuckey @ TNT had one about a month ago that I was thinking of buying.

I'm sure he can get another...You should email him.

Finished a Crystal Castles that needed decaling. Primed, sanded, painted, sanded, and dry installed a special-order decal set from Escape Pod. This is one of the official conversion kits from Missile Command that Atari sold. I have always loved Crystal Castles!

cool! I dont think I have noticed the missile command a collector with the conversion before. I know they made it. I have a few NOS marquees for that conversion. SO if you have a need for a marquee, let me know.

Finally found a parts Machine!...Dragging my feet on the dirty deed however, and in full on procrastination mode.

I have a few arcades but this is my fav for sure.
I was borderline obsessed with this game growing up and had to get a nice dedicated cabinet when I had the chance.
This is the best version of SF2 btw(except anniversary I guess) Don’t let anyone tell you other wise!

So my wife told me last week "No more pinball machines until I get my Ms. Pacman" lol. I wasn't go to argue with that haha. We ordered a brand new Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga 20th Anniversary cabinet, looking forward to getting it!

dont kill a red barron! the boardset is different from battlezone, so its not a rom change. it does have the right wiring. but open face battle zone is not fun. If you were in the bay area, I have a project battlezone in in storage (Periscope version).

It is nice to see someone is worried about that...But it is in good hands, I am making a new cab for it...But to not waste the cab, it will be converted when this is over.
