Quoted from chubtoad13:

I’m going to restore my first arcade cabinet, a nintendo Playchoice, and I’ve been debating using paint vs vinyl on the sides. Is there a consensus on what to use? It seems like it might be vinyl now.

What color are you going with? Vinyl looks great but is delicate compared to oil based paints. Everything but black is a little on the translucent side. When I do vinyl I always prime my cabs with primer that is tinted to the color of vinyl being installed. Getting vinyl to look correct takes a lot of effort. The cabinet has to be perfectly smooth.

nice collection but you need to replace your control panel overlay on that q*bert stat!

I have so many projects ahead of it. I will get to it. Promise.

It’s black. I’ve seen videos of people using a thick laminate as well. That seems like a good option to ensure a nice smooth surface. Probably expensive, but less time consuming.

Quoted from dmieczko:

Ms. Pac looks beautiful. Part of me thinks you should have left the original marquee - it faded at about the same rate as the cabinet and the colors actually matched pretty well!!

I get that. I mean I saved it, but it is just *so* washed out. Like no color at all. Also someone painted the front panel of the cabinet, and it honestly looks pretty ok!

When I get time I might revisit cleaning it up.

I've got about 20 arcades, and am now up to 7 pins.
Its an addiction for sure.
Here is a video of my basement a few months ago.

Recently grabbed one of Dirty Donny’s “Titans of Tempest” blacklight posters—and my Tempest is actually working for a change—so I had to set up a photo.

A collector from one of the FB forums is coming from the KY areas across country in August, up to CA, then on to the Pacific NW, and back east. He will be picking up two arcade games for me in San Francisco and bringing them back to the east coast. If anyone is interested in using his shipping service, feel free to PM me, and I can give you his contact information. He said he does not yet have his pinball dolly, so he is sticking with arcade games for now. (That's why I posted in this thread.) Just trying to help him out as he still has some room.

Dedicated working Millipede is my second to last one and I'm trying to move it out! Come get it out of my garage for $500.

Hey arcade collectors. There are two stickers on the back of a Wacko that I want to reproduce. The first one I have. See below. I believe the second one was the game’s serial number but I don’t know what it looks like. I have my serial number just not the sticker. Can someone post a photo of one so I can get mine remade? Thanks in advance.

Found the answer to my question on the web. How do I give myself a thumbs up? The missing sticker isn’t the serial number as I suspected.

Still working on the gameroom after moving, but here's my arcade corner: Star Wars, Asteroids Deluxe, Marble Madness and Cabaret Pac-Man. Not pictured is Tempest cocktail.

I currently own one pin and one full size arcade.. I’m looking to add another and looking in to any type of multicade machine.
The two games I most desperately want are probably Dragon’s Lair and Punch Out.
There are so many muticade type machines out there I really don’t even know where to begin looking. They come up in FB marketplace frequently but many times the games list “is too extensive to list” lol.
Does anyone have one with both the games I mentioned? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Quoted from Brett-L:

Dragon’s Lair and Punch Out

The one I have has Punch Out!! but not Dragon's Lair. (at least not in the arcade section, I never look at playstation and all the other categories).

The one I have is the 12k games that sells new for 2500.00 from Classic Game Rooms in Covington GA. You can call him and ask if Dragon's Lair is in there anywhere. (I am a rookie at navigating through everything, I just leave mine on Arcade section with 2800+ games).

I have a nice, restored Space Harrier if anyone is interested. Feel free to send me a PM if so. Thanks.

That reminded me that sometimes I am about ready to sell the full size cocktail table with 60 games, because we never play it anymore.

But if we are ever traveling it is light enough to take on trips. (I would love to see the look on the hotel maids face when she comes in to clean the room).

Dragon's Lair and Punch Out are so totally different I wouldn't think so.

Find a Dragon's Lair. LD player doesn't matter. Put in a Dexter board and Merlin DX card and you're good for the entire DL Trilogy plus Space Ace.

This 1968 EM Williams Space Pilot is part of the exhibit of the Dutch Pinball Museum in Rotterdam. A very interesting game that works with fans. I made the video to explain the game to the general public that visits the museum.

Enjoy!

Very cool.
The Museum of Pinball in Banning California has one of these. As does the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.
Very interesting and fun machine.
Thanks for sharing.

How much is a Zekes Peak worth. Just say it works but cabinet needs TLC for sure. Prices are all over the place on it from what I read.

#2980 3 years ago

... huh.

I mean I knew this already but never listened to it side by side.

Well, *I* am a lucky so and so. Space Ace inverted cabinet still running from Laserdisc.

I am going to pull the original logic and Laserdisc out in order to preserve it, and run it with Arthur and Dexter. Really an absolute dream game for me.

I haven’t posted here in almost a year, I totally forgot to update you guys on my latest score!

Picked this up a little over a year ago but just put it in storage, finally last week I found someone parting out an original Taito boardset to bring this back to life!

Believe it or not, this BEAUTIFUL game was headed to the dump and I was able to rescue it for free! Glad I’ve held onto it, Space Invaders is mega cool and the Japanese cab is so much cooler than the midway one.

This thing is beyond cool. An original Japanese Taito cabinet from 1978!
Right now I’ve just got this junk on the screen and I know the 5v and the 18v is out on the power supply.
Anyone know where I can get schematic for the L-shaped board? I tried using Klov but the website still sucks and 90% of the images and links are dead

Also note that the L Shaped boards are Midway boards. A common problem is that the ROM sockets get cold solder joints, and you end up with messed up graphics. This was a problem even when the games were only a few years old. Usually you can just touch up the pins with a soldering iron on the back of the board, but it's better to just replace the sockets.

These are not the midway boards. The
midway boards aren’t compatible with the original Japanese cabinet. Midway made a few L-shaped boards and then, for use in the Taito cabinet they had a custom fingerboard that swapped the pin-outs.

All of the sockets on my game have been replaced and I’ve inspected them for cold joints.
I am pretty sure it’s the old power supply with the missing voltages that causes the issue. Plus the 2 amp audio IC is literally burst open.

Hi, I’ve decided to let go of my Foodfight cocktail. Below are the details. Located in So Cal.

Foodfight Cocktail: $2,300
One of 100 units produced. It's from a former Atari Employee, it’s in really nice condition. This is the one with no serial numbers. The glass is original and has Blue paper instead of being silk screened along the sides. The CPO’s are also original. The PCB is from CK96 and the monitor is nice and the controls are nice. Both Joysticks have the Alu control arms, the player 1 stick has the replacement bellow from wizzes. Player 2 has the original bellow and both work great. Also have a spare bellows from Wizzes and it will come with a new glass from TOG when I receive it at the end of Aug.

Would the MAME roms not work? Pardon my ignorance.

My wall of Nintendo Vids...I'm newer into pins and these had not been getting the attention they deserve lately until this past weekend. Arm Wrestling is my favorite, VS Super Mario Bros and the PC-10 get the most attention from the kids and guests though.

Does anyone know what arcade games 2 players can play at the same time?

This multicade has 2 sets of controls for 2 players, but everything I have tried on it you still have to take turns.

I tried to Google it, and I could not find anything.

There are many, but to name a few off the top of my head...

Marble Madness (the best!)
Joust
Joust 2
Great Guns
Splat (extremely rare, you aren't finding it except on MAME)
Rampart (really good game, give it a try!)
Tetris
Pong
Tank
Canyon Bomber (simple but very fun black & white game)
Indy 8
Space War
Space Wars
Orbit
Atari Basketball
Atari Football
Quarterback
Bottom Of The Ninth

I'm sure I'll think of a dozen more as soon as I hit "post reply".

The last couple of weeks I've been working on a Galaxian that was painted blue and converted to a Ms. Pac-man. Had to take it down to bare wood and start over. It is turning out pretty good but lots of my parts are stuck in USPS hell at the moment (like the art). I made a high end all original parts controll panel and a second one from a junker I bought on eBay for a Multicade. Might keep this one as a multicade since Galaxian isn't worth much. At least I saved the cabinet.
