Just picked up a missile command full size. Its in storage at moment as were doing home remodel and stuff is a mess here.
I’m looking to buy classic arcades near Lincoln Nebraska(within a few hours drive) if anyone is selling anything. Let me know. Looking for anything 1995 or older. Rebuilding my collection I sold off for pinball.

Good choice! I’d love to have a Missile Command in my arcade some day. Challenging (read: eats me for breakfast), neat theme, giant trackball .. I love it!
Put a Jrok / Mylstar board in my Qbert as a solution to my high scores always getting corrupted and then I realized the board played Mad Planets also. I like Mad Planets a lot so It was time to make an alternate control panel for my beloved Qbert. Gottlieb parts are expensive and hard to find so I improvised. The joystick came out of a Gorf and the spinner is from a Tempest. After some metal work and some soldering I had this.

Damn, that looks awesome! Great work!

I am looking for a set of the plastic coin entry slots for a Bally/ Midway coin door. The only place that I can find them is flippers.com and I am not sure if they are the right ones? Anyone have an extra set or can lead me to a retailer that sells them?
-Thanks
midway-coin-door-pair-plastic-entry.jpgHere is a shot of my Mad Planets control panel installed. I was even able to light it up since it was originally a Gorf joystick. Optical joysticks really are the best. I actually made it plug and play with the factory Qbert wire harness. Qbert used a 9 pin connector but only uses 7 pins. I added 2 more. 5 Volt for the optical joystick / spinner and a trigger fire button. It takes about a minute to switch back to the OEM Qbert control panel.

That’s awesome! Change the marquee and call it a day
Anyone interested in an original, serial numbers matching Black Widow? It has a rebuilt WG6100 with LV2000, plays well, nice cabinet, side art on right peeled away and revealed original Gravitar art. Asking $1650, but feel free to make an offer. Thanks.

I am very excited about the launch of the documentary film: Welcome to Arcadia. The scope of the subject matter is tremendous and the footage is unprecedented for a movie about our hobby. I'm one of the film's advisor.
Please feel free to share this link of the trailer on social media, if you like what you see and/or support the project. Thanks.

Yeah, I'm excited. I added myself for notification when the KS launches. Curious if the film will be available on Google Play?

Looks like a great project. When will it launch on Kickstarter?
Quoted from Backyardace:Looks like a great project. When will it launch on Kickstarter?
The official launch is this Monday, April 13th.
The film's vibe is sort of MTV meets PBS. The music is going to be heavily influenced by the eighties, although not exclusively.
Fun times. Thank you for your support!

Dam looking good, how the hell you fit that sega rally where the 720 was? I see zookeeper is gone and now a black widow. Room is sweet

Thanks a lot. Unbolted both roll cages and seat off then flipped the lower section sideways and rolled it in. It’s one heavy game being the deluxe motion version.
The Zookeeper is for sale and in the garage now. Love Robotron so Black Widow fits in nicely. Thanks again.
I built this TMNT cab, wasn't willing to pay $$$$ for an original, runs on a raspberry pi 3. I threw on several classic 80-90s beat em ups as well. (X-Men,Simpsons,Punisher,AvsP,Turtles in Time,etc..). Cost roughly $300.00 for all materials. It was a fun project, it forces you to learn quite a bit in subjects such as carpentry, programming, electrical.

Nice! Another Black Widow fan. I love mine. Nice space and great selection!
Chris
Thanks Chris! Black Widow is an awesome Vector game so similar to Robotron but with more strategy as you Just don’t blast away at everything or you’ll die fast.

I hear the comparison to Robotron all the time, but I think Black Widow is much more complex (gasp). Other than the move / fire aspect, I would never have compared it to Robotron personally, but what do I know, LOL.
Once people can figure out how to start a game, they seem to like it.
Can you imagine the pitch meeting for Black Widow? Had to be almost as interesting as Williams' Joust. There is some strange ass stuff in early 80's games.

Quoted from Phat_Jay:Speaking of robotron....wife was gone overnight so i took the opportunity to bring mine home from storage. Stuck it right in the living room.

I thought the living room was where games were supposed to go? Here is the view of my formal living room when you walk through the door:

That is awesome!
8 years ago I bought a gutted robotron then 2 years later traded that for a very nice gutted robotron.
I immediately stuffed it with a crt and Xbox 360 so I could play the updated robotron and geometry wars 2 in it. Problems was you need to hack a controller and install analog joysticks for everything to work properly. Try finding analog joysticks, you will have a very hard time. I finally found a set in Japan and went through the 3 month wait it took to get them stateside. Installed them over several weeks of trial and error and could never get the pots to work with the console correctly. So then the machine sat in the corner of my sons room for 5 years unplayed while I would research and come up empty every time.
Coronavirus strikes and now I have some free time to research further ; there’s a guy online that built a geometry wars machine from scratch on commission 5 years ago, haha... I contact him and ask how he got the sticks working and he Guided me to the answer .. a device called cronus; it helps with customizing controllers for consoles... a week later and I am finally able to play updated robotron and geometry wars on a medical grade awesome crt in my robotron cab... the cab was not harmed in the process, and can be restored to original robotron if I ever get the itch.
