Quoted from Mancave:

Just brought this home in the last few days and it will need a bit of work to get it back to nice condition. Currently the board doesn't fire up but shouldn't be an issue to get going. You guys will probably notice first up that it has non-original US release Side Art, this is the art work they were released with in Oz (gotta love that Toyota Landcruiser doing some scrub bashing) and YEP that's a gum tree in the background although missing the normally ever present "Drop Bear" Someone has also attached (very crudely) a steering wheel off an Atari Sprint machine as well. Another difference in the Oz cab is how the pedal units attach to the main cab, all up the cab is in pretty decent shape structurally. There's some chunks out of the side art decals but i doubt very much i can get these redone though and the after market decals are only the US version. Anyone got any ideas on how i can go about recreating the side art?? The next project has BEGUN

Wow, about the only things about this is that th Marquee and control panel graphics are the same as the U.S. version (even the coin door is different).

As far as new side graphics, you might look into this:

I have an Area51/Maximum force with a blurry monitor and would love to get it looking as nice as possible.

Can I replace a (slightly blurry) standard res with a (beautiful) medium res monitor?

War:Final Assault has the standard res
Area51 - converted to Area51-Maximum Force DUO has the medium res

#1103 3 years ago

here's a question for the experts out there. I picked up a new in box wei-ya M2820HR monitor yesterday. can the tube from this be used as an amplifone replacement for a major havoc project?

if the size/resolution of the monitor is compatible, my thought is that I'll purchase the boards from dez in australia and build my own

Still waiting on warmer weather to get the two end games finished with...

Finally got the arcade game bug. I restored a Neo Geo arcade machine myself just to see if I could do it and it was fun, but decided to buy my arcade games already restored. Got my first three, now just need to make room for more!

Brought home a Brave Firefighter yesterday. Felt like fred sanford driving pickup 50 MPH down the highway for 3 hrs. Its in 4 pieces and heavy as hell, but looking forward to donating to local firehouse once I get it up and running. Seller also threw in a rolling thunder game, supposed to be street luge, but missing monitor.

I just checked this out Hmmmm is all i can say. Thanks for the idea though, much appreciated. I don't have the computer program/s to send them a file in the relevant format anyway so i would have to find someone local who could sort it for me. I would love to reproduce the side art decals, i like them better than the US version one's, got a bit more character to them i feel. Without opening the suggested thread issue here, i have bought decals off those guys before and was happy with the results BUT the Gist of the thread is just WOW, Not Kosha !!! Hoping to start on this project in the next month or so and get Ivan scrub thrashing again

I have a really nice Need For Speed Underground. I just picked up a project NFSU, with a moldy (interior) cab, dead CPU, and cracked my rear glass. I obviously haven't allotted the repair bill into my budget, so my first thoughts have been "Part this crap out", "Try to recoup your loses", etc.. The whole situation really depressed me bad yesterday

I just plugged in the card dispenser into mine (working cab), and viola, cards are spitting out.
I'm now thinking straighter to the goal - get it working Get these bad boys linked up and playing together!

I am thinking that rebuilding the cab is a better way to go than dealing with the mold. I've heard that sanding it is the only real way to go, but would be afraid of it coming back

After some more though (and fear of mold spreading), I decided to part it out. If anyone needs something, LMK.

Okay, so I'm in Florida at Disney's Saratoga Springs currently, and happened to look on ebay and there was a Black Hole for a fair price....in Kissimmee...and I'm driving my truck. Sooo
I shoot over there and he has a PacMan arcade game for sale too for the fair price of $350. I load both. I've been looking for a Pacman for a few months, as I too, have been bitten by the vid bug. There is just something so cool and iconic about these games, to be working still, playing them- instant time machine for me, and the art is awesome.

Anyways, I have a full load and I went to the theme park connection warehouse to poke around at the disney prop stuff. I've been there a few times over the years and always noticed they had an original Centipede with a dopey $950 price on it. The owner notices my truck and says ''hey, interested in the Centipede for cheap?''................
"'How cheap?'' I said.
$300
$200 I said, but we settled at $225. I tetris this in the back of the truck. I'm FULL/DONE/SCREW DOWN THE MAN HOLE COVER.

I need to go to Walmart tomorrow for a tarp and a couple more straps, this should be an interesting ride home in about 10 days LOL!

My list now includes:
Original Pacman
Original Ms Pac Man (have to pickup from a friend back home)
Original Centipede
Gunsmoke conversion in a pacman cab (looks slick)
Big Buck Hunter 2
Mario Bros dedicated
A 60-1 I'm working on, but may convert this to a Final Fight (yeah, I think I'm going to, Final Fight is bad ass)

Your War can play on a med res. It's a dip setting. Your Area51 combo can be played on a standard res. Also a setting. Don't remember what setting. Search the net for the settings.

You're right, but after pondering about TMNT and TMNT T I T for quite a while before getting one,
to me they should have a higher value then stuff like pac-man, or bad dudes or common stuff like SF2.

What's a Burgertime worth? It's in good shape & plays 100%. I'm trying to buy a pinball/arcade package deal.

Not too sure, but a beat to hell one just sold on eBay in my area for $1,500. If it's a package deal, you should expect it to be more reasonable than that one was.

Tron
Donkey Kong (in a red cab)
Space Invaders (rare Taitronics)
Gaplus
Galaga
Assault
Star Wars
Tempest
Space Duel
Major Havoc
Black Widow
Red Barron (cockpit)
Q*Bert
Zaxxon (cabaret)
Aliens vs. Predator
2pl 2 button Dynamo HS-5
And a bunch of rarer jamma pcbs.

I have a TMNT board in my SF2 cab with a jamma switch. I would LOVE TMNT TIT to add, but like I said, they are always so expensive.

I'm a total fan on the CPS2 area fighters and the CPS2 system in general.

God, I'm such a collector operator hahaha!

#1131 3 years ago
Quoted from Meph:

Yes I did forget to list it, but honestly I hate that board. I had one and sold it. It's also on this multi. The problem I have with the board is that they allowed too much freedom in choice. You can play a SSF2 character vs a SSF2T character. They should have allowed you to choose but restricted both players to choosing from the same game. There are too many balance issues in that game. It was a neat concept, just poor execution imo.

My #1 situation with this version is that VS the CPU is ungodly hard!
It kicks my customers AZZes daily!

I picked up a Pacman cab that had been converted to a Nintendo Vs and painted over several times. Along with it I also got a full Ms Pacman kit. While there are some small curve changes to the Ms Pacman cab, I don't really care that much so I decided to convert it to a Ms Pacman. It took me just over a week to fix the Ms Pacman board, get a working power brick and complete harness. The monitor is being recapped right now.

I removed all the Vs hardware they added, stripped the cab to bare wood, bondo'd all the carriage bolt holes, lockdown bar holes, and damage to cabinet. Painted it this weekend and reinstalled everything. Just waiting on the monitor to return. I still have side art and front artwork to do. Those are actually going to be done in solid colored vinyl, layered similar to a stencil. Should come out really nice and will never fade. Also need to sandblast and powder coat the coin door and control panel. Basically it's ready to play once the monitor gets back though.

My latest game room setup. Currently only have Met LED Pro for pins in here with a GB Pro ordered and waiting. In the mean time I have been starting to add some more arcades since I have the space. Yesterday I did a 400 mile pickup to grab a nice Frogger for my daughter. It's her favorite game and Wednesday is her 9th birthday so I couldn't resist.
