Here's a good reason to come to Texas. The National Videogame Museum will open in a couple of months. I did a news story today.
Here's a good reason to come to Texas. The National Videogame Museum will open in a couple of months. I did a news story today.
I picked up a DK cocktail which was in pretty nice shape (worked but have some screen wrap). however, after capping the monitor, issues are starting to pop up left and right. I've haven't given up yet, but am getting close to pulling the plug and outsourcing some help on the board set.
I currently own the following arcades:
Jukebox: Rockola CD-8B Bubbler Jukebox
Mech-Tronics: Fire Escape
Midway: Gangbusters
Midway Shooting: Gallery Deluxe
Chicago Coin: Coney Island
Chicago Coin: Drivemaster
Chicago Coin: Foreign Legion
Americoin: Dozer
Americoin: Fire Chief
Americoin: Junkyard
Bally: Skill Roll
Dale Gun Co.: Cops N' Robbers/Crooks Saloon
Williams: Ambush
MCI: Airball
MCI: Open The Safe
Sega: Basketball
Sega: Combat
Sega: Sea Devil
Sega: Cowboy
Sega: Grand National Horse Race
Sega: Helicopter
P&S Machine Co.: Tom Tom
I am kind-of just getting back into more arcades and maybe more obscure (not just the super popular ones) yet I've been out of the market for a while and not real keen on what's what. I am looking at a few machines but not sure what they are worth. If you are willing to give me some honest advice and have your fingers on the pulse of arcades please PM me. I would greatly appreciate your help, thanx.
the only problem with the EDOT is that we're alot bigger today than we were when it came out (both in height and girth
it makes squeezing into that cabinet a bit tougher

hey i squeeze in and out of my starwars cockpit. edot is more stand-up ish.
Quoted from robotron:hey i squeeze in and out of my starwars cockpit. edot is more stand-up ish.
and I'll bet you were a lot shorter when the EDOT originally was released I'm just under 6', but find myself having to slouch inside that thing to play the game.
Quoted from Chosen_S:Slither is super tough to find
I did find one, but the owner wants to repair some issues with it first when he gets around to it. I offered a good price for it, but when I actually bring it in is up in the air at the moment.

Smells fishy
I've had to pry a few games away from people... But that's an odd one.
Look out for the "local guy" who will conveniently show up and talk him out of it in person, while you're waiting in the wings
Isn't it funny how things go through ebb and flow? You don't see something new you want at a good price for months and then you have 5 new machines. That being said I need to move a few things. I don't have enough room, ugh. Thought I would post a few things here first. Let me know if you have questions or are interested in something. I don't need them all gone but need to move something.
Polaris Cabaret - works and looks great - 800
Haley's Comet - needs a cap kit for vertical lines - 150
DKJr - works great ugly paint job - 600
PacMan w/turbo chip - works great looks nice - 600
NeoGeo 4 slot - new controls, control decal, 4 games - 600
Arch Rivals - looks and play good - 400
is the neo geo a conversion or dedicated.... any pics?

Dedicated2015-09-29 16.22.31.jpg, pretty nice. The lights in the marquee don't work. Here are the two I have with me, I can take a few more tonight if you like. Oh, and those are the games installed. 2015-09-29 16.22.45.jpg

Congrats and welcome to the Slither club *hopefully*

I have had over 150 arcade games, I have never seen or had the chance to by a slither. very very rare game! very small club!

I had one about 10 years ago, let it go for way too little, before there was any hype. I didn't care for the gameplay, but that cab was oh so cool
got an unplanned call from STI today.
(they never called to coordinate date/time).
they said they were going to deliver in 45 minutes from then.
there was no way i could get home for delivery.
so, asked them to call & schedule a day next week. boooo....
didn't get to take delivery of new toy today
so maybe next week i'll post a pic.
Quoted from jwwhite15:The lights in the marquee don't work.
Glowhut sells them: http://glowhut.com/a6-size-electroluminescent-panel-with-lead-and-connector/

WEEKS?!? oh no no no no no
I need to clean up a bit:
Used Heavy Barrel PCB
- came outta my recently MAME'd cab
NOS Heavy Barrel PCB
- told it was NOS, perfect, etc... Never tested myself
Guerrilla War PCB
- told it was working, never tested myself
Police Trainer PCB
- told it was working, never tested myself
I really not sure of value, but would be open to any offers.
Quoted from PACMAN:Well after mangling my back playing paintball with my Boy Scout troop 2 months ago I'm finally back to restoring games.
Here's one that's not too common... Atari Fast Freddie.

very rare and underrated game. game scrolls in the opposite direction from l/s of cab to r/s. nice job wow!
Only arcade game I have is Lode Runner, which seems to be pretty rare to come across. I've always loved the arcade port of it though, different than all the other ports.
Quoted from boogies:I just got a jukebox setup on my MALA cabinet:

Very happy to get that done
Bro, you need to hide that windows boot stuff, google it, it will make it look nice and pretty when starting up
nabbed the following over the past few days
- tempest cabaret board set (complete w/ marquee)
- q*bert board set (x2) (complete w/ marquees)
hoping to get the cabinets for all 3 games in about 2 weeks and then restore them like new

Quoted from Honch:Never heard of it before.
There was one in an arcade I worked in back in the 1980's. They were built by Atari's Ireland division. I don't believe they were originally intended for U.S. sale, but the one where I worked at came from C.A. Robinsons. They used to get some games for / from Europe back i the day and sell them in Los Angeles.
If I recall, Fast Freddie was engineered by the same company that made Kangaroo.

I think the most interesting thing is that Atari had an Ireland division. I wonder how many games never made it to the US?
I own just one Taito Egret 2 candy cabinet, which i completely restored.
I'm a big fan of bullet hell shooters, especially Cave games. My whole PCB collection.

they will be restored to their former stand-up glory. my neighbor has already done one and it came out amazing
did they even have q*berts in cabarets [officially, not operator conversions]?
Quoted from OlDirty:I own just one Taito Egret 2 candy cabinet, which i completely restored.
AMAZING Restore, I don't think it was that clean when it was built in the factory. Very Very Nice Collection!
I Looked for a candy for 6 years, never found one, so I built 2 and use the xbox 360 in each of them... couldn't find monitors for them either, so I had to use HDTV's but at least I have DDPDFK running beautifully, the rest are ok, but would be much much better on a CRT...
GUYS... That Candy is the equal of a HEP Restore.... again, GREAT JOB!!!
Quoted from OlDirty:Not too many shmups fans here, but most are playing the classic arcade games.
yeah, not too many of us

Thanks for the nice words, but the restore was really easy compared to the pinball restoration.
I think there's quite a difference if you play those shmups on a Xbox 360 or with the PCB. I also have a few on the xbox and also MAME, but from the feeling it's really something else. Even i use the same joystick, but maybe just an illusion .
I also have to colllect a few of the real classics (donkey Kong, Pac Man,..) , but in that case a 60 in 1 will do it for me i guess
Quoted from Chosen_S:yeah, not too many of us
Shouldn't be meant negativ , i also like the classics!
