Slither was a humongous pain in the ass.

Original cabinet. Made new stencils, color matched, painted and clear coated.
Was missing PCB, had to track one down and get it working.
Had to rebuild the power supply.
Build a new wiring harness.
Touch up the bezel glass.
Luckily the CPO is original and nearly flawless, a little Krud Kutter and it came out super clean.
Powder coated the coin door and brackets.
New buttons, new 2 1/4 trac ball, new monitor, new speakers, new t-molding, new locks keys….

#504 4 years ago

It is, i have to redo 1 of the side art decals on it, got lots of bubbles from the pre mask.

#505 4 years ago

I want a Slither. It's probably the hardest to find game on my list along with M-4.

How much is a Tournment Arknoid worth?

Any idea???

if i could take like a month off during the summer and just come and apprentice with you, it would totally be a blast & improve my own repair todo list skills

#508 4 years ago

i dont think this game was in a dedicated cabinet .. seems like they are always in crappy conversion cabs.

my guess would be $150 - 250 tops.

I have a Dig Dug cocktail machine. It has 16 games like pacman (all of them) and asteroids and of course Dig Dug. I like it a lot except for the old CRT. I have to change it to LCD one of these days but am not sure how to do it. Anyone have any tips?

Think twice about going to an LCD - the CRT produces a better picture for classic titles. I would suggest getting a replacement CRT. If you do opt for an LCD use the 4:3 format (squareish), and not a wide screen standard LCD monitors.

Just my 2 cents...

Thanks Chris! How many Slithers do you think are still left?
I know of about 3.

More pix of the Exidy Combat.

This was actually built 4 years ago but i just barely got the CPO artwork sorted out.

The Combat side art was my very first reproduction art project.

Grabbed the gun off a "Whodunit" powder coated it and sanded down the Exidy logos on the sides.

Do you powdercoat your own stuff PACMAN? What's your setup like?

#520 4 years ago

i know that there is a socal klover that owns a slither. whats cool about it is that it was filmed in the tron legacy arcade scene in the film.

love that COMBAT sideart right there. beautiful man. im so used to always seeing cheyennes and crossbows. nice to see a different exidy gun game make a appearance

New arcade addition this month is a nice NBA Jam TE. The cabinet was split apart pretty bad but nothing some wood glue and clamps couldn't fix.

I would love to get my hands on all of the cabs from that auction. I'm surprised it slipped past me as I'm usually on top of prop auctions in that area for my other hobby.

Looks familiar. I see that it has a Seiko coin door, so it's probably from Japan. SEGA?

There sure are some good looking machines in this thread. I have a Robotron 2084 and a multicade. I had two multicades and traded the 12 game one for my pinball.

#541 4 years ago

Currently, we have these games...
~Classic~
Dragon's Lair
Robotron
Defender
TRON
Zoo Keeper
GORF
Galaga
Ms. Pac-Man
Centipede
Donkey Kong
Space Invaders Deluxe
Asteroids Deluxe
~Modern~
Area 51
Gauntlet Legends
Killer Instinct 2

#542 4 years ago

You stenciled and painted that Slither, PACMAN? I'm still curious what paint you use. Those stencil jobs always come out perfect.

Lol, go buy the 60in1 kit from Cajun Arcade for $100, add a 19" Dell LCD for about $40 on ebay, and an empty arcade cabinet for another $25-50 and you can keep about $2300 in your pocket and have a much larger selection of games than that overpriced turd has.
