I just picked this up last night. It's in decent shape for the play counter showing 29000+ plays. It's my 3rd pin, but I am a novice do I didn't want to tear into the games we play all the time. I can't wait to pop this baby open and get to work. This is my first foray into troubleshooting and restoration. Wish me luck!

Cool/crazy flipper layout - enjoy!

Wow. Cool pickup.
I understand that Atari's have some very unique ways of doing things. I think there are a few Atari guys on here though who may be able to help if you run into problems.
Good Luck!

I did do some pinside Atari research before picking this up. There is definitely some love for these machines on here. Unfortunately commencement on anything serious is going to be stunted until I can build a rotisserie. That's a WIDE body to try to climb over. From having turned it on, the rear drop target bank does not reset. That was addressed in another thread years ago, so I marked it as a favorite and it shouldn't be too terrible. The left upper flipper is just mush, as you can see it dangling like spaghetti in the photos. I did get two boxes.of spare parts, including a new flipper kit, so obviously the previous owner didn't want to mess with it too much. Some of the rollover stars don't register, which is likely just dirty or unadjusted switches. Everything else works perfectly. Display, coin door, all other scoring is great. Once I get the room to rebuild this game it's going to be awesome and play super fast. I will be posting pics of progress as I go.

Ron,
Here are pics of the flipper assemblies and the drop assembly. Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you.(// Error: Image 319954 not found //// Error: Image 319955 not found //20141117_162540.jpg

Atari pins always have nice playfields it seems.
People could never keep em running, lol
Good luck on your project!

Are those EOS switches supposed to be open or closed at rest? From the pics it looks like you have one of each.

Thanks for pointing that out. They should be open. I haven't taken anything apart yet do I'll be sure to address that.

Is that left upper flipper supposed to pointing straight down?

[edit]
I just saw the original paperwork for the machine. You may want to adjust that flipper.
