This may have been done before, but I was thinking about how expensive this hobby has become. We all have quite a bit of money tied up in arcade games and pinball machines in our collections. I was wondering what was the most expensive pin you’ve ever purchased. How much was the most expensive game you’ve owned and why you just had to have it. Was it a dream theme?? Was it rare?? Did it have a great nostalgic or sentimental value?? Final question: were you happy with your purchase or do you have any regrets? You Do Not have to put price-this is just for fun

Ghostbusters LE was my most expensive. I enjoyed it, but it was hard to get over that much money being tied up in a single game. It was sold to free up cash for something else. For the most part, I have come to realize that I get a TON of enjoyment from games that cost a fraction of the price.

WOZ original clearcoat cabinet, throw in a piece of 300 dollar invisiglass, 500 bucks for tax and another 175 for inbound shipping (Whatever the Hell that is ). I had to rent a van , buy a ton of gas and traveled 600 miles round trip. A year later , traded for a MMr. No Regerts

So, actually, if you count restore, I have more into my TAF. NOS PF clearcoated by HEP, the entire topside was replaced, etc.

18K TZ with restore or somewhere very close to that. I do not own it anymore but it was damn nice and the new owner thinks so as well.

Would rather not discuss it further other than to say life is full of hard lessons.

Most expensive of my 15 pins is road show, sold it, then bought it back for $3000.
Will sell some of my pins to finance a NIB. Just have to find out the ones to go.

Hard to say. Straight out of pocket ST pro. Ended up trading it plus cash for a nice TZ. Then put a bunch of more money in it to get everything 100% and nice. Don't want to do the math on that one.

Hey brother you got great games! I have no interest in new pinball myself. I like classic SS and EM play much better without even considering price. That is the beauty of this hobby, there are many different ways to enjoy it. Contrary to a lot of Pinside rumblings, the hobby isn't ONLY about NIB games.

Big Bang Bar. In the end, I only paid a small rental fee to own it for a year and a half. It left with a few upgrades and it was a good experience.

It was several things. It was the most I'd ever spent for a pin, and I sold 4 games to buy it. It didn't play as flawlessly as the show pin I'd been hooked on. None of the $5k Stern Pro's I'd bought needed anything near the attention D.I. did and I'm no newbie and expect a few "tweaks" but still. It started to occur to me that no one game is worth $8k (as has already been said) Also, family didn't really take to it like I thought they would. So I offered it up to a buddy down the street for his original AFM and some cash my way. Totally worth it...

BBB remake on private market pricing and airfreight to Australia.

That also involved flying over to Europe prior to check it was legitimate.

Well over twenty if you take all those factors into account.
