    Quoted from Silverstreak02:

I paid $800 for my first pin(Space Mission), $300 for Cross Town, $350 for Jacks Open. These EM’s all needed restoration so now my limit is $400. It takes too long and costs too much to restore one so I keep the initial cost low. This is my Cross Town that is done.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Is that a baby crib? Did you take over the nursery with pins? That's a ballsy move.

Yes it is. I figure I can fit two more games once the crib is gone.

Lol. I thought you were coexisting with the baby.

It’s my granddaughter and she has only used it once in 10 months. We wanted to be prepared in case of babysitting, but it didn’t happen.

so i see that 5 people have checked $20K+. what pins actually cost that much? BBB? TBL? Even HEP's don't go for that.

I sold my 04' Repo BBB #111, about 4 years ago for $15,000. 2 Months later, he sold it to someone else for $20,000

    #158 4 years ago

$7500 for an AFMr LE a few weeks ago. Though I got around $500 in credit card cash back, so it worked out to $7k in the end. For my own sanity I don't think I can go that high again lol.

When you think about it, any “enthusiast” item is usually (insanely) emotionally driven.

I’ve opened, and drank, bottles of scotch and bourbon that go for $5k+.

I currently don’t have a machine in my collection that goes for half of that.

Would I go back in time and sell those bottles for secondary prices? No.

In the grand scheme of things, we (hopefully) do what makes us happy.

(That said, I have less than the price of your bbb tied up in a built v1 CTS-V, and have thought about selling it to buy a couple grail machines because the 300 or so miles I drive the car a year aren’t worth the taxes and insurance...but I digress, it’s one hell of a fun car, and I enjoy looking at it in the garage 8))

    #160 4 years ago

I hear ya, got a nice mustang in the garage, where it sits like 355 days a yr. just rolled 1000 miles this year, same as last. Makes ya wonder why we tie up so much money, but I love looking at it and starting it to hear it grumble.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this exact same thing with my car!

BTW and related to the poll, my highest pinball purchase is tied to my Tron LE.

Pricey, but never have regretted spending what I did to own it!

lmao, is that a Johnny Mnemonic retheme?

    #165 4 years ago

    NIB METLE, $8600.00 w shipping.

Didn't tell the wife. To be honest I never even planned on opening it. Was out with her one day and knew where there was one locally, so I casually said "why don't we stop in and play it" - and she loved it. She even mentioned it to the kids, and wanted to go back a week later. It was a couple months til her birthday, so when the time came and we were out celebrating at dinner I had a couple friends move it into the house and gift wrap the box with a big bow on it. We got home, she walked into the living room, and it is now our most expensive pin by far, after my ridiculously priced 3400.00 HUO Monster Bash (circa 2002 or so).

    #166 4 years ago

Would be my 3 NIB Pins.....

    Munsters LE - $9000

    AFMr LE - $8000

    KISS LE - $8000

I imagine this thread has been blown out of the water with the Covid inflation.

    WMS MM for 4500ish

Course that was the time I was buying CV around half that.

    #169 3 years ago

The Big Lebowski - Recent build NIB from Dutch @ $12.5k. First and only NIB I have ever purchased. Now trying to figure out how to spend 9.5k on a GNR LE

I got the GnR and thinking about TBL now. Get the GnR. It's worth every bit of $9500.

    #171 3 years ago

I wish our dollar was par. The GnR Le i am about to put a deposit on will cost me just over 14k Can. That just beats the Avengers Premium i am putting a deposit on at the same time which is going to be just over 12K. When they run the Elvira again soon that will be another pin at around 12K. You guys have it good.

    #172 3 years ago

    The 1st one.

    #173 3 years ago

My most expensive pins costed 4500 euro's (about $5300) each and both were bought this year

    #174 3 years ago

I paid $4500 for my TOM and sold it for $6350.00 It was really tough laying out 45 but paid off in the end.

    #175 3 years ago

$15K for Lebowski, $10.5K for R&M, $10K for JJPotC are my three biggest. Been more of a bargain hunter since. Got a very nice Sky-Line coming in for $1K, and a nice Mayfair for $600 and I'm just as excited. The great thing about pinball ownership from a financial perspective is the values tend to hold except for NIB, and sometimes even increase. So, $35K is a lot of bread for three pinball machines, but I could also get more than $35K for the trio if I were to sell them today (about the same for Lebowski and R&M, but more for Pirates). I've managed to make money on everything I've re-sold just because the market keeps going up. I don't look at them as investments, but it's reassuring to know that money in/money out can be roughly even as long as you're not dealing in NIB. Once the initial money is spent, you can keep changing up the lineup without spending anything but time or shipping/gas costs.

Most expensive individual game so far was Munsters Premium. Still own it, still love it.
Most expensive single purchase was for a Scared Stiff and BSD. Those should be rolling into the house soon.

    #177 3 years ago

    The gateway drug ...

    #178 3 years ago

I spent 10k on a TRON LE. Most ever for sure. But wow a GNR LE I am going to buy is 9.5k + tax and shipping? Might be the winner winner chicken dinner

    #179 3 years ago

Most expensive was a HEP restored Medieval Madness several years ago. Before the remakes. Let's just say it was a lot. What added real value was the custom topper.

By a mile NIB MET Premium that Pinball Refinery decked out with all the bells and whistles almost $10K. I thought about finding an LE to deck out, but years ago no one was selling locally at the time and I grew impatient. This game is bolted to my floor (Thanks Steve)!!

I’m thinking JJP’s next game (crossing fingers Toy Story) CE or AFMrLE will be my next expensive game next year.

Cheapest game? Free EM Bronco in great condition. Co-Worker’s father passed away and she knew I wanted an EM to fix up and care for.
