Yes, I traded for it, so maybe it doesn’t seem like I spent so much money for a pin. If that makes sense. Somehow you feel like you spend less when you trade, since money may not actually change hands

    Hmm...

Selection range is too high for me. No Sub $1000

    #105 5 years ago

    MMR LE.
    Worth every penny.

    #106 5 years ago

I can still remember them all. In order of price:

    NASCAR - $2,550
    Earthshaker - $1,800
Space Shuttle - $425 and an arcade game with a dead monitor I paid $75 for.
Mousin' Around - $550 Facebook Marketplace - dirty but working 100%. Cleaned up great!
Laser War - Traded a BurgerTime that I got in a trade for a Space Duel that I paid $400 for.
Flash - $400 Facebook Marketplace - "non working" (blown fuse and no ball in it...).
Taxi - Traded a High Speed that I got in a trade for a Silver Strike Bowling that I paid $300 for.

I have paid over $2k a couple times for EM arcade games but my all time high pinball was $1377 for a R&B. Being an EM guy I thought I was really stepping up at the time. I usually pay $500 or less for EM projects. It was fun and don't regret it one bit. Sold it for $1500. Like a lot of them I miss it a little.

    ...AGAIN!

Yeah had just finished a full shop... Was going back together with it. It was complete upon purchase. Original playfeild and plastics. Definitely a survivor.

Paid way more than Iiked to for NIB GBLE at $12k The movie was a real big part of my childhood and upbringing so it was a must have.

Most I have ever paid was $14k for very nice Tron LE. Not even really my thing, but my wife is into it and Im not saying no to another pin.

All in all 15k is my limit on any pin. Wont ever pay more than that and I really want TBL.

    #110 5 years ago

Wozecle $6500, then RRWoz 2.0 $9500... may have been closer to 10k shipped but still happy to have it!

    #111 5 years ago

The most expensive pin I ever bought was the first one.
Only because that led to me buying a bunch more.

Its definitely an addicting hobby!! Too bad pins are so expensive and heavy

    #116 5 years ago

Bought my Apollo 13 for 2400€ and my Black Knight as a trade in.
Not an insanely high price but worth every penny.

I wanna note that my second most expensive pin weighs in at 1400€ for a hook with two playfields, 3 almost complete plastic and ramp sets plus new decals.
Every other pin in my collection was <850€

    #117 5 years ago

    WoZ RR for $9,500.

    #118 5 years ago

TOTAN with complete restored pf and all brassed out. New wiring and color DMD.
    $9,000 with shipping included.
Love it. No regrets. And looks amazing.
Changed the base on the spinning lamp from red to purple, but it didn't/hasn't needed a thing since.

Based on sales I've become aware of over the years, the prices in this thread seem mostly in the high modest range to me. I'm wondering if some people are not commenting and their reasons?

    #120 5 years ago

I’m sure those with BM66 SLE folks are not.

    -1
    #121 5 years ago

Its an embarrasment of riches. Put simply.

    #122 5 years ago

WOZ @ 6500 and said it would be the limit and now Houdini at 7k.... No self control I guess, Happy I did it though.

    #123 5 years ago

Your Medieval Madness trade we did was the most I (spent) traded for. And it was short lived. Dont regrett it. got a star trek premium and cash for it in the end. I got bored with mm way too fast.

    #124 5 years ago

Bought a remake BBB for 16.5k before upgrades were added. Had so much in it I was spooked to play it. Well that and concerns about replacement parts. Lovely game BBB was, unfortunately she didn't last long enough ... My max threshhold for buying a pin was immediately lowered to 10k, where it proudly still stands as a mile high wall that I cannot pass through.

I see you’ve downsized your collection. That’s the beauty of this hobby, play a pin for a while and then sell or trade when you’re tired of it.

    #126 5 years ago

$1800.00 for a Scared Stiff from Betson West.

    #127 5 years ago

"When I die, please don't let my wife sell my **it for what I told her I paid for it."

    #128 5 years ago

I paid 18k for the nicest BBB i had ever seen. Bought a Joust recently that was fully restored and also costed quite a bit (especially with travel costs to Canada and back).

Wife has me on lockdown for awhile.

    #129 5 years ago

TRON LE & BM66 LE, both are bolted to the floor and will be used as my casket to bury me in

    #130 5 years ago

    MB
I played the pin almost 20 years ago for the first time as a kid when my grandma dumped me in the arcade at Grand Casino in Biloxi. Watched them dip down to about a low of $3k over my years of watching ebay but could never swing the money.
FFW and I Finally got to a point I could afford it.
    No Regrets.

    #131 5 years ago

crazy! but then again I paid $6300 for a tron pro NIB...and then thousands more on mods and labor. im prolly pushing $9-10k on that baby. that game will never leave my mancave, except for $20k, then its def for sale

    #132 5 years ago
    Quoted from LTG:

Original Capcom Big Bang Bar - $8K
    LTG : )

What year? We have to convert to $2018.

    #134 5 years ago

Paid $12,990 AUD (approx $9,700 USD) for our AFMR LE in September 2017.

    #135 5 years ago

I just bought a Big Lebowski recently. Paid a crazy amount. No regrets. Such a shame more of these weren't cranked out. Love it.

    #136 5 years ago

Because of fluctuating exchange rates, hard for me to say, but it's a close race between The Hobbit SE and Alien Prototype.

Having been in this hobby over 30 years it's quite astounding to me what these games are worth today, I guess I'm lucky as the law of averaging has been on my side.

    #137 5 years ago

Metallica and KISS Pros NIB from Cointaker were $4700 each. Guns N Roses was $5000. That’s my max I’ll ever pay for a game. I thought about getting a Luci, but they’re just too much.

    #138 5 years ago

The most cash I paid at one time was $3500 for CFTBL and TOM. Most I ever spent on one machine was probably around $2400 for RFM.

    #139 5 years ago

    Cactus Canyon $11,300

    1 year later
    #140 4 years ago

Going through some old threads and I still find this question interesting!! What is your most expensive game? Was it worth it?

    #141 4 years ago

Road Show and Elvira tied at $3600, but with shipping tacked on for the EATPM. Wouldn't normally pay that much for a Sys11 but it was my last grail pin.

RS, incidentally, is the nicest condition machine I have ever purchased.

I would love a Medieval Madness but would not love to spend that much.

    #142 4 years ago

    Bought? LOTR for about 6k
    Traded For? Aliens

Kinda glad I am at a point where I don't want more pins. Buying arcades is so much cheaper. Skee ball? 500 Air hockey? into it for 500 as well.

    #143 4 years ago

I must be a cheapskate. Highest for me is a tie. 1k for a Diner and 1k for a Cyclone. Most valueable game is prob my Demo Man though.

    #144 4 years ago

close to $10k for me and never again. lots of games in the $6 to $8k range and probably never again. My limit moving forward is probably going to be around $6k. I have been having a blast on games in the $2500 range and some EMs I paid $200 for. I do not get more satisfaction from a $8000 game, so why drop that kind of cash on it. There is so much location pinball in Nashville now there is really no reason. When Music City Pinball opens his new place in October he is going to have close to 300 arcade and pinball machines with a bar and restaurant.

I agree. It’s definitely hard to justify spending so much on a game when you can play locally. That is my problem here In Danville, very little location pinball. I just partnered with a local brewery to have a few games out. So I’m moving from collector to operator- that way I can share my love of Pinball!

I have actually thought about that, there are some local coffee shops and brewery's that could use a couple games. Do you charge $1 per game?

    #147 4 years ago

most expensive was my NIB BM66 by a mile... low $7k price tag was a massive hit. Before that, the record was my low $5k NIB Tron LE back in the day (which is a steal of a price now LOL)

    #148 4 years ago

    my JJP POTC

I know I’m crazy but I’ll be at 50cent a game at first. There is absolutely no other place to play pinball in the city, but I also don’t want to scare off the new potential customers. It’s a start and I will see how they perform. Didn’t want to put $1 a game and have people pissed off with my Star Wars and ghostbusters with short ball time for new players

    #150 4 years ago

I paid $800 for my first pin(Space Mission), $300 for Cross Town, $350 for Jacks Open. These EM’s all needed restoration so now my limit is $400. It takes too long and costs too much to restore one so I keep the initial cost low. This is my Cross Town that is done.
