On J104 or J105 is a connector with 2x WHT-RED wires, unplug this one.
When fuse F111 doesn't blow after this, the problem is likely on the chaser-board for the topper.
This chaser board has 2 bridge rectifiers. Check them first.

Quoted from rvermeire:Is there trick to test these rectifiers as well
Yes, but there is a tricky part here because on this board there are 2 bridge rectifiers partly in parallel (marked green and cyan in picture)

That means that when there is a short in one of those marked diodes, you can't be for sure if it is BR1 or BR2 having a short.
In that case you could replace them both as they are same age and it is a matter of time that the other bridge will fail as well.
To measure, take out the board, set multimeter to diode/buzz,
- put BLK-lead on (+) of bridge BR1, then with RED-lead measure both (~) terminals.
- put RED-lead on (-) of bridge BR1, then with BLK-lead measure both (~) terminals.
Expect a reading of about 450 mV in display or in case of a short close to 0 mV
Next do BR.2 , BLK-lead on (+) ....etc
Quoted from rvermeire:Guess the beep is not a good sign...?
perfect, you found the short.
Quoted from schudel5:The higher the voltage and
amperagecurrent ratings the better.
agreed on that, as long as it fits on the circuit board, you're good.
Quoted from rvermeire:Which BR is controlling which row?
Can't be too difficult to see as this is a simple circuit.
Check the bridge rectifier that it is installed the correct way and check solder for good flow on both sides of the PCB.
