So I am fixing little odds and ends here and there. My wh20 has an issue where the bigfoot solenoid energizes on startup. It happens for a second and the game plays fine after booting up. I do not remember it doing this before. The solenoid is kind of a PITA to get to so I figure I would cut to the chase and see what to check first.

Do you mean the big foot diverter, or do you mean the big foot motor that turns his head?

Check the transistor associated with the coil. Most likely it is done for and needs to be replaced. Also check the pre driver transistor as well.

That's an odd one.
Power to the coil is finding ground, whether through the normal means of the transistor, or via other means.
I'd start by removing the connector that provides ground (J130), then reboot the game.
The diverter will probably not do the same thing, which will rule out game wiring, and indict the driver board.
