The Blue on the side art is near perfect match..The Cab Artwork has a much darker blue.
Haven't decided if the Cab is going to be black or Blue in color. I'm leaning towards Blue.
I was going to screen print the back Head Unit with the ugly "Caution Warning Label"
Stuff that I'm going to put the old Translite smack bang in it's place. Will look heaps better.
No more progress for 3 Weeks
Oh boy! I like this. I am 95% complete with a tear down/rebuild on wh2o. I did the full cabinet, powder coat, playfield auto clear, and tumbled every screw, bolt, and mech on the game. Make sure to take plenty of pics on tear down and even document what order you took ramps and parts off the playfield. I don't know how they ever designed this game, and after talking to Nordman at Pintastic last year, he thought it was a feat as well. Good luck and let me know if you get stuck anywhere. Looking good so far!
Thanks Rave. I'm doing things in stages so I don't have too many parts dissasembled at any one time. It will take longer, but less hassles.
The Ramps just wrap into one an other don't they. I remember when I first played White Water I had no idea where the ball was going to come out when it entered any Ramp. I have New Mirco playfield's to install. Color LCD & 3d Translite. New Speaker Panel ETC. All the Metal Parts are being cleaned by hand with sandpaper if needed, but mostly steel wool and water. It won't be prefect but it should look better than New.
I have printed out new Coil Wrappers and clear taped them and glued on with Hot Glue. Any black soot from wear and tear after rebuild will only need to be wiped clean to maintain that brand new look. All the Head box Parts have been cleaned up and spray with clear to prevent oxidation. I think plain white looks smart and will stay looking that way for the life of the Game.
Yes the ramps wrap together pretty understandably, but will really only go back on in one order. You can also print the coil wraps on sticker paper and then just wrap them on.

Head is now finished. Just need to change one Connector on the Back Board.
Also have order another High Voltage Warning Sticker for the Lighting Board
I cleaned all the Ribbon Cable Header Connectors with Pencil Rubber.
Speaker Panel fully stripped down, Sanded and Display area sprayed with Matt Black. Rear of Panel Was sprayed with Acrylic to prevent any Hand marks on the Bare Chip Board. The new Plastic Speaker Facia was also replaced. The Translite is the new 3D version. A new Color DMD was also installed. Around $2,000 in parts went into the Head Alone, including new Driver Board.
The back of the Lighting panel still needs a little sanding.
Stripped out the Cabinet. Lots and lots of filling and sanding to do again. I swear I'm never going to do this level of restore again!!
I sanded back the front bottom of the Cabinet, just that bit took 2 hours..OMFG! The Floor is going to be sanding back to bare Wood and Sprayed with Clear. The rest including the Outside Bottom is going to be Gloss Blue. I have Art Work to go on the Inside as well.
The Structure of the Cab is excellent. The Bottom of the Cab has Marks and dings from Transport. All of which will be fixed.
The Lock Bar, Legs, Hinges, Side Rails, Power Supply are all going of to be Chromed very soon. Won't get any change out of a $1,000 for that alone. The Coin Door has been stripped down, and it will get Powder Coated Black.

Well the wood and paint work are not perfect when it comes to the inside of the Cabinet. But still much better than new.
The Electrics make up the difference. Just having a Squared up neat Ground braid makes a world of difference.
No More progress for a couple of weeks. Next is sanding the Outside for Decal Install.

Yeah I know, the inside is not perfect by any stretch, but the back of the Cabinet and the Top etc I paid extra attention to get just right.
I'm still happy with the inside and it is still way better than factory even though the original cab color was black instead of blue. I just think the blue looks better.
The outside of the cab won't generate much dust. I'm thinking 220 or maybe even 400 grit for the front and sides before I put the Decals on.
I only have one more piece of Wood to sand and paint now, the rear back plate on the Playfield.

Cabinet is now finished except for the Coin Door. The Powder Coater's have that.
The side rails also need to be Chromed. Can't afford that right now. But it won't hold me up.
The playfield will keep me busy.
I ended up with a small crease in the front artwork but I did manage to get the Start Button Spot on.
I put Velcro on the interior Cab Word Rails, for a bit of extra Bling!
Started with the Playfield. T Nuts are all in. Repainted the rear head Board Blue. I also noticed the Mine Kick out scoop has bad wear.
There goes another $130 AUD

Got the Playfield T Nuts in and installed the Playfield last night. The Back Boxs hinges are temporary installed.
They need to be chromed.
Repainted the Back Board.
Overhauled the 2 Mech's under the Apron including new spring, sleeves.
Rebuild the shooter replaced both Springs and Sleeve. Hand Polished the Shoooter Rod
Had my to Boys do a couple of hours each on the stainless Ball Guides.
Started with 120 grit wet and dry and progressed to 400 then Polished with Brasso.
It took a whole Hour to do the large semi circle ramp at the very Back
