Quoted from SunKing:Has anyone heard back from Helmut about version 1.2?
NO!
Quoted from knockerlover:astropin do you have the updated scoop with the plastic add on?
Nope...but mine never shot it out so hard that it hit the edge of the scoop.
Thanks everyone who has sent me the update! 1.2 is up and running. First thing I noticed was a lot more magnet action!
So how do I get the 1.2 code update? Also still looking for information on the added piece to the airlock scoop, I have access to a 3d printer but I need pics and dimensions please.
Quoted from Join_The_Cirqus:Already ahead of you
I asked about two weeks ago and Cliffy made it happen
He is awesome. Should recieve on Tuesday!!
Great minds think alike?

Any progress on replacement I/O board solution?
Can someone with version 1.2 send a link please?
Can Op create a summary page for topic which lists the three machine with a status and comments? I can't easily tell if any machines are working. Example would be :
Machine A - 100% working since 04/02/18
Machine B - not working and needs parts for ?
Machine C - working since 05/01/18 but Xeno broken
Quoted from jeffspinballpalace:Can someone with version 1.2 send a link please?
Done
Quoted from Join_The_Cirqus:Suitable Replacement Coils for Alien
For slingshots and Bumpers (No Diodes) WMS
For Flipper: Stern ( No Diodes)
Are you just testing these coils or are you replacing them for the fun of it?
Specimen D is set up after my tech guys spent HOURS vacuuming and disassembling top and bottom of PF to get every shard of broken PF glass out. Looks like I picked the most labor intensive one to buy Matt ! Now to plug this bitch in ! I’ll call you first Matt as requested !
Quoted from mnpinball:Are you just testing these coils or are you replacing them for the fun of it?
I'm hoping he's installing stronger coils in the flippers and eject mechs, and if so would be excited to know the results. I feel like factory ones are weak.
Quoted from violinfather:Can someone please send me version 1.2 also? Thank you.
Done!
Quoted from mavantix:I'm hoping he's installing stronger coils in the flippers and eject mechs, and if so would be excited to know the results. I feel like factory ones are weak.
Really? Sometimes I feel like mine are too hard. More than enough power to make every shot and sometimes it looks like a little too much power.

My ball launch and trough are both way too strong on default. I have my airlock turned up tho.

I have an Alien LE and recently picked up a broken Standard which is now back to 100% functional as of last night.
(Bought the 2nd one for future parts)
The Coils were for the standard.
Quoted from knockerlover:join_the_cirqus could you tell us how your beacons are wired?
Process above is already there by another pinsider.
The LE, they came factory.... I am adding them to the Standard though and followed the above process
Best Way to add a sub woofer? Some people on other pins just alligator to clip to existing sub in cab but I dont want to blow a board.
Gerber files and bill of materials for the tongue stepper motor board were sent to the prototype place today. Likely a long road of revisions, etc. but hopefully at the end of this, those of you with early-run xeno boards will have everything you need to order replacement upgraded/production boards.
Here is the assumed parts list at the moment..
Got the Standard back today from Powdercoater
Blue came out pretty nice I think!!
Beacons added and work perfect
New topper for Full Throttle as well

I disconnect the internal sub and run extension wires to the external sub.

Hi folks...
Here are the official links for the Alien 1.2 software release:
Update package: http://pinballbrothers.com/updates/hpa12.upd
Release notes: http://pinballbrothers.com/updates/hpa12-rn.txt
** IMPORTANT: THIS CODE SHOULD ONLY BE INSTALLED ON MACHINES THAT ALREADY HAVE SOFTWARE 1.0 OR HIGHER! ** Using this package on machines with any 0.xx code version may cause serious problems with your machine.
To update your game software:
1) Download the update package file, "hpa12.upd", and copy it onto a (FAT32 formatted) USB thumb drive. Please ensure that this is the only *.upd file on the thumb drive -- delete any other .upd files that might be on this drive.
2) Insert the USB drive into a USB port on the game's CPU. (Note: you can make your life a lot easier by purchasing a USB extension cord, and running it from a USB port on the CPU to somewhere near the coin door.)
3) Enter the operator menu, and navigate to Actions > System Update.
4) Press Enter. The screen should advise you to insert your USB drive (which you already did) and press Enter to apply.
5) Press Enter. The update should be very quick, just a few seconds, after which the game will automatically reboot into the new software.
6) Verify that the installation was successful: the game and video software revisions on the startup screen and first operator screen should show "1.2".
If you're lucky enough to have an Alien, we hope you enjoy this software release. We tried our best to make the game shine.
Have fun...

Thank you @ferret, Helmut, and others helping to improve these games. The 1.2 release is outstanding.

I couldn't agree more. Just loaded it and it is awesome.

I agree, after this update it works great. They really did a good job.
Quoted from mnpinball:Yes the tongue stepper motor is a Digikey part. You beat me to that
The original jaw motor is a cheap China plastic gear motor that strips and breaks. SG90
There is a better upgrade metal gear unit here. Amazon RioRand MG90S

Guess i’m being cheap. thinking i don’t need 4 of these. 2 would be good. anyone order these already ?
Quoted from Kneissl:Did the 3d print file for the xeno gear ever get shared out?
No, Ilushka85 sold his Alien. I sent him a PM, but never heard back. Guess I'll have to take back my 'nice guy alert'
I ended up using some super glue - and that has worked for me so far. My xeno now happily eats my balls.
Quoted from SunKing:My xeno now happily eats my balls.
Quoted from FlipperFreak:We're sourcing our own parts. We'll also be making replacement IO boards for those in need.
Hi FlipperFreak Tommy
Any progress on the New IO boards?
Definitely interested in purchasing serveral...
Any idea what the approximate cost will be?
Thanks so much
Eric
Quoted from knockerlover:I'll send one of ours away for scanning, but it will probably be several weeks..
knockerlover NOVA Labs just got a new high-end structured light 3d scanner that is accurate up to .05mm. I won't be signed off to use it until June 6th; after that I could scan that (or any other parts) for you.
