Quoted from Billy16:My CFTBL holo was not lighting up much at all--all I got was a bluish blob. Not so spiffy. So, I tried one of the halogen light upgrades (I got it from Pinbits, but you may find it somewhere else). Super easy install, you just follow the directions: http://www.iobium.com/creature_lamp_upgrade_kit.htmI did find it easier to drill the two pilot holes by removing the light box--just two screws hold it on. I re-installed the light box, attached the light assembly, replaced the bulb. No sweat.I was surprised at how dirty the actual hologram was. That couldn't help, so I cleaned it with Plexus plastic polish. I'm sure Novus 1 would do the same. It really brightened it up. I also cleaned the mirror, and blew all the dust out of the lamp tunnel box. The other surprising thing was how dirty the underside of the clear plastic lagoon cover was--also cleaned with Plexus. One last surprise, the light bulb for the hologram was a #1156--an old Chevy tail light bulb! Yikes!! After putting it all back together, I now have a visible blue Creature--although he only has one hand/claw/paw. Oh well, at least I can now see he only has one hand...
How has this been holding up for you?
