Quoted from semicolin:So I'm headed down to Ann Arbor the last week of July for some training at the University of Michigan, and my evenings are free.
Can't help with VFW. But Pinball Pete's is a great place to stop by and play.

Went there (Pinball Petes) a couple of weeks ago and they have a few nice newer LE's there now. Glad to see that and had fun playing them.
I'll definitely be stopping by pinball pete's.
Marvelous Marvin's looks awesome, but I'm unfortunately limited to what I can easily access by taxi/lyft/public transportation as I'm flying in from Canada.
Just a reminder about the tournament tomorrow.

I went to "The Arcade" in Brighton yesterday and updated the pin list today on the "Pin Map" based on what they had. I identified which ones were LEs - they have some good ones. The list is getting much better with more popular pins. We had a good time.

Quoted from TwoHeartedMale:Where the hell is Fremont?
Its way over and up west... Above G.R.
Quoted from TheLaw:Its way over and up west... Above G.R.
so your saying its the middle of nowhere? like more then 2 hours away from our centrally located Capitol, and over 3 hours away from our only major city? Sounds like a great place to hold a championship .
Quoted from TwoHeartedMale:Sounds like a great place to hold a championship .
Michigan is a big ass state; tell someone in the UP that our capital is centrally located
Anyway, the championship moves around to diff'rent locations to keep it kosher. Whilst it may be far, shit I've never even trecked to Fremont, sometimes it's close like Brighton, not too far like Kzoo, sometimes further like Flint, GR, Fremont etc.
The point is if it's there, it's being run by the Harmons who put on a fine show and will do it right.
So....You can always wait till next year when it's closer

I've never been to a pinball tournament before. About how long do they last?
Thanks

A 4 strikes you're out tournament will depend on your play and how many players and how good the other players are.A 20-24 player tournament at Mbrew might take 4-4 1/2 hours and the same amount of players at Beeks might only take 3 1/2 hours but you could be out in under 2 hours.there is also tournaments that have set rounds with points awarded based on your place each round then totaled at the end with highest score being the winner or a playoff with the top 4-8 players.these can take about 20-30 minutes per round and 7 rounds seems to be popular.there are other formats but these are the most popular for your average weeknight tournament.
Did my first tournament at GameOn in Midland this weekend. Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome and showing me what to do and how it all works! I definitely would like to play in another event.
Tomorrow (December 12th) at our weekly M-Brew tournament we will be having a very special guest.

What time is the Joe Dumars Strikes tournament tomorrow? I saw it on the IFPA calendar but did not see a time.
I also saw a page on Facebook and noticed that a lot of times the tournament was not held but did not see anything recent. Is it for sure being held? Also how much does it cost to enter? Pretty new at this, have only done one tournament so far and it was in Midland. Thanks for any info
I'm not sure about the Joe Dumars tourney but there's the Beatles release tourney at pinball Petes Ann Arbor tomorrow
Quoted from AaronJames:Joe Dumars is not happening any longer till further notice.
Bummer. Just found out about it and I'm only 10 minutes away.
Is the chesterfield Sparks thing a league where you need to be there every Monday or is it a tournament style each week? I can't commit to coming every week as I'm working a lot and have young kids but I could play maybe once a month
Quoted from Puffdanny:I'm not sure about the Joe Dumars tourney but there's the Beatles release tourney at pinball Petes Ann Arbor tomorrow
Thanks for the invite. Sounds fun but I'm looking to stay a little closer to home on a work night.

3 strikes tournament, random game and groups of 4 or 3 each round...bottom 2 players get a strike. 3$ entry plus coin drop each week. No need to play each week, but the best 3 of 4 weeks scores are used to assign A and B brackets for the head to head tourny on week 5. A great and fun league you should check out when you can.

I heard there was going to be a tournament at a bar at 22 and Van Dyke. Any details for this? I don’t have Facebook. I’ve never been to the bar before. What kind of machines do they have? What type of tournament? Dates and times? Thanks a lot!

I was at the tournament last Thursday. One Eyed Jacks Arcade Bar. Cool place, relaxed atmosphere. No IFPA points yet which is fine by me as it was just casual players having fun. The pinball list...
