Hey guys (and gals);

Since I have a Pro JP, I don't hang out here - but figured I'd share what I made since it applies to this thread too.

In case you haven't seen it: JP 3D speaker grills. 1/4" strips of magnetic tape holds them in place. Combined and modified a couple of files off of Thingiverse. Will share the stl files if anyone wants them.

Quoted from JayTeeF:

Has anyone gotten the clear shooter lane protector to work? Getting switch test #22 alert with it on. It seems others have had the same issue.

Mine works fine on a Pro, but shouldn't be any different w/a Prem.

Quoted from DeathHimself:

I have one on my Prem before any balls were played and has been fine since day 1. I actually like them better then Cliffy's shooter lane protectors. I use Cliffy's everywhere else.

Like you, I have a mix of the plastic protectors and Cliffy's I have noticed the plastic protectors are a little troublesome on the pins that don't launch the ball into the orbits. My IMDN just didn't like the plastic protector and I switched to Cliffy's.

Quoted from Flipstream:

I'm wondering if there is a communication breakdown between the engineers/designers working on prototype tables and whomever is putting together the table BOMs and assembly line instructions...

In my experience, that is the same person.

As a design engineer, I would specify a particular component from a single vendor. Purchasing could only buy from that vendor. Of course the vendor had to meet the drawing requirements. With more generic parts (i.e. a resistors), then purchasing could buy from a variety of vendors as long as they met the spec requirements. But in the end, totally my call.

My assembly drawings had instructions regarding how hand-placed parts were placed on the PWB. I also wrote the test spec to verify the board was working properly.

In the end, engineers wear a lot of hats!
