For those of you with a shaker, how is the implementation?
I don’t like games that just shake for the sake of shaking. But since the LE comes with one and the game is about dinosaurs, it seems like a well programmed shaker could add to the experience.

Thanks, but I'm speaking to the Stern JP2 Prem/LE T-Rex head, not the Data East one. Anyone know if someone is working on this? My guess is no otherwise I would've probably found a recent post about it. I imagine it would be a lot of effort. It would be so awesome to know if any modders are looking into it.

I remember reading about this as well. Hopefully winteriscoming does it. The one he did for DE is amazing!

Suggestions on best blades for JP Premium? Stern or mirror? I understand it’s all preference and was leaning towards mirrored, but thought I’d solicit some opinions. Also have Pin Stadium Hyperbeams (which really to me make this game more playable), so when thinking about blades, probably need the narrowest ones.

I ordered these. I can post a pic installed when they get here. They use some of the art from the playfield so I think they’ll look nice.

Quoted from MLmotorsport:

Hey all, JP2 is my first NIB. I've had it for about a week and put about 20 games on it. Just realized the Pteranodon (right ramp) exit is not registering. Connections all look good but I reseated the connector just in case. In switch tests I cannot get it to register. Thought I'd see if anyone here had any ideas before I reach out to Stern. Is the switch arm supposed to normally rest under or on top of the wire gate lever?
Part of the reason I even discovered this is because my spinner came off and after re-installing it that switch wasn't activating. I'm assuming this is normal stuff for a new game?[quoted image][quoted image]

The switch arm isn’t attached to the switch anymore. The hole in the arm should be on this little black nub.
The arm is supposed to be under the gate. You should be able to just pop it back in place. If it doesn’t seem secure squeeze the sides with pliers to make sure it doesn’t come off again.

I had to remove a lot more than that to get the cliffy in. There was a notch in the inner ball guide that Prevented one of the bolts that hold the cliffy in from coming out.
I ended up taking off the apron, autoplunger assembly, inner rail, wire form, and helicopter assembly along with the plastic under it (that’s where the screws are that hold the inner rail in place)

I also had to loosen the post at the top of the cliffy to slide it under that

While I was putting the cliffy in, I believe I found the root of the auto launch issue. The shooter lane isn’t cut wide enough to have a ball sit in it. You’re essentially hitting the ball with 2 prongs and for the first 4” the ball is riding on just 2 points of contact.

I’m working on a solution that doesn’t involve sanding the shooter lane down to at least prove my theory.

Had my side rails powered coated and just trying to decide which color backing looks better. Black or yellow?

Looks nice! What color is that powder coat?

Quoted from Braindance:

My T rex seems to have trouble closing her mouth. When i manually move the jaw, it sounds like the rubber exterior pieces are rubbing together, making too much friction to let the mouth close easily. It doesn't affect game play too much, just drops the ball a bit early sometimes. It seems the clearance between the rubber pieces is super tight and the rubber might have changed shape almost imperceptibly, but enough to cause resistance. Any ideas for an easy fix? Thanks in advance.

I just fixed this issue. My TRex worked great for a few months and then all of a sudden the mouth wouldn’t close as fast as it used to. Manually opening and closing the mouth felt like the jaw was rubbing and getting stuck when it got to the fully open position.

The solution was a washer inside the mouth between the top of the mouth and the bracket. Essentially raising the top of the TRex just enough to allow the clearance the jaw requires.

You could probably bend the bracket and achieve the same result. I tried the spacer before bending anything because it’s easier to remove a washer than bend a bracket back if it didn’t work.

Does anyone have their premium powder coated in a color other than orange? I like the orange, but I’m curious what other colors would look like. I’m considering green/black crinkle or just a gloss black with the stern side armor.
Any pics would be great! Even orange ones

So your t-rex is a she? Does she have a name?

All the animals in Jurassic Park are female...

Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

BTW, this makes it seem like I'm pretty much guaranteed a "reward", but when I registered it said I would be entered into a drawing and made it sound like it was about the same odds as winning the lottery. Has anyone received a reward, and if so what was it? I don't know if all of this was finished after the initial launch or if they are going to provide awards also for this most recent production run.
[quoted image]

I registered for the “reward” with my AIQLE. I haven’t received anything. I think my “reward” was being put on a mailing list.

Quoted from WonderMellon:

I spent some time looking at this further. The T-Rex head moves just by lifting the Playfield. The head drops before the Playfield hangers even come up out of the front of the lockdown. Does anyone else see this on your machine when you lift the Playfield and the t-Rex is in the down position?
Not sure I can upload a video. Here are before and after images. You can see the head drop based on the position compared to the top plastic. [quoted image][quoted image]

Sounds like the back of mech may be touching something that causes it to not move when down, and moves the mech when you lift the playfield. Is the wire bundle from the back box secure in the corner?
