Ok so after reading all about the issues with playfields I called my distro and asked him if he had heard anything about these "widespread issues". He said he had heard about it on Pinside but nothing else, so he said he would call Stern to get the skinny and ask them point blank if they are having issues with the playfields in Jurassic Parks. He called me straight back and told me he had talked to Stern and asked them to give it to him straight, they're reply was that they have shipped 700 Pro Jurassic Parks and a grand total of 5 people have complained about the play field issues as we are seeing here on Pinside. By those numbers alone that is less than 1% of the total games shipped that have reported an issue. So either people are not calling to complain to the manufacturer (as they should do) or just complaining here on Pinside. My distro said he'd had one person call to cancel his LE because of the issues he'd read about, then the day after he called back to "un-cancel his order", he'd changed his mind again. I just wanted to share this information FWIW. I will NOT be cancelling my purchase as I'm sure that if there is an issue you can be sure I will be contacting the distro/manufaturer to get it resolved and then posting my results here not viceversa. Happy Flippin'

Quoted from tpir:

I have seen 2 in person myself and at least 5 others here on Pinside. That is more than 5 just in my extremely tiny sample size. Also is Stern counting all the machines where they covered the issue themselves with washers??

You are asking questions I don't have the answer too, I'm only relaying the information I was told 3rd hand, (from Stern to my distro to me) I would suggest more people call their distros and see if they can get more answers. It's always better to get factual answers from the manufacturer than to purely speculate as too how many machines are having this issue.
Right now by your own sample size of 7, (given that the number of 700 units shipped is correct) represents 1% of the total machines that have shipped that show those issues, whose owners have actually reported to Stern. Again this was the information that was relayed to my distro and then back to me.

Just received a call from my distro asking for balance of payment. LE's should be shipping in about a week

Played a Pro on location this weekend absolutely loved it! Great fun although I did see some pooling of the clear around the left star post sling and the post by the upper flipper was loose, but couldn't see any chipping at all and that was the only pooling of the clear that I could see. We shall see what happens

Quoted from evh347:

For those of you wondering if the MezelMods Raptor Pit mod will fit the LE....it does not appear to fit correctly right now.

The back pair of fence posts contact the raptor toy and impede its movement (w/ or w/o the included aluminum fence wires). Also, the left raptor pen mod does not quite match up with the screw in the plastic.

I've got a support request in w/ Kristin right now.

That's a bummer! My mod arrived today in anticipation of my LE arriving on Wednesday. Please keep us updated with Tim/Kristen's response, whether we have to return the mod or not. Thanks!

LE #188 is in the house! Like a lot of other LE owners out there I have not noticed any of the "issues" that have been reported and I went over it with a fine tooth comb Cleaned and waxed it and there are no signs of pooling/chipping of any kind, the T-Rex is grabbing the ball and the raptor pit is really cool, I had a raptor mb before I knew what I was doing , I also got CHAOS on my first game (just luck I think) I have purchased the raptor pit and control tower mods from Mezel but after finding out they don't fit the LE I'm waiting for him to send the modified parts that will make them fit. So far absolutely loving this game, now back to hunting dino's...

PS> hawkmoon77 so sorry to hear of your troubles and I'm sure Stern will make it right with you. Peace.

Royale-W-Cheese I don't see your name on there yet, has yours not been delivered yet?

Royale-W-Cheese did you pay extra to get such a low number, or was it the luck of the draw?

Royale-W-Cheese Mine usually throws the ball when you get the T-Rex Rampage, for the other modes she normally places them in the ramp, just an FYI

#1887 4 years ago

Well my modding is done (for now lol), changed posts to yellow rings to clear and flippers to green. Installed amber shooter rod, Mezel raptor pen and lookout tower and Pinstadium Omegas, I like it a lot

Quoted from EaglePin:

My replacements were requested 10/28. Still haven’t arrived. I’m not thrilled about going almost two weeks now without being able to play it. I’m getting the withdrawal shakes. Let’s see who gets their replacements first

It’s looking like it’ll be you even though I only live about 20-30 minutes from Stern. Not awesome.

I ordered mine from Pinball Life, $4.95ea and delivered in 3 days! I couldn't go 2 weeks without playing I probably should submit a ticket to Stern though, so that they are aware of the failures.

Here is a little treat for you guys. The lucky ones who downloaded the new clips have heard 2 versions at the end of the game.

Wifey jumped on the piano and I caught her playing and practicing. Not bad for 3 attempts.

very good! Wish I could play an instrument

Ok guys have a strange one here... When setting the angle for the playfield do you normally set to the flippers at the bottom or as close to the top as you can?

I set mine yesterday to 7 degrees at the top of the playfield and it reads around 6.7 by the flippers. The machine plays fine I'm not noticing a great deal of difference in making the helipad shot from what it was prior (6.5 at the flippers), I also adjusted the top flipper a little as it was really intruding in to the helipad lane, it definitely made a difference! (First pic is before adjusting second is after) After making these adjustments and this is the strangest thing, the shaker motor is now really shaking the machine with a vengeance! I'm thinking can changing the angle of the game really change the intensity of the shaker? I wouldn't think so but then again that's why I'm asking the experts Btw, the game is level side to side withing .2 of a degree.

Also, When making a full right orbit loop the ball comes around and hits the truck nuts instead of hitting the upper flipper like I've seen it do on the Dead Flip videos, I tried looking under the playfield to see if there is a screw/nut to adjust the side rail but couldn't find any. Anyone else notice this particular issue? Thanks guys!

To all those with the sound issues after updating code, just do like sk8ball says and change the ohm setting back to 8 (it was set to 4), everything is back to normal again on mine. Except the shaker is really intense now

#3189 4 years ago
Quoted from fooflighter:

No difference in shaker either as I have my shaker weights offset at 135 deg to tone down the vibration , and also have shaker tape on the glass

I'm going to have to do this! The current code has the T-Rex vibrating the whole machine right now not just the glass but the whole cabinet I don't know how you got to 135 degrees though I did it on my previously owned MET because it too was way too strong I think I just moved the weights 90 degrees though. I will definitely check it out though and have to get some rattle tape

#3250 4 years ago
Quoted from rapidraw:

Did it continue to work after you powered game on and off because once I power cycle It returns to 4 ohms.

Confirmed! Same thing happened to me this morning, I adjusted the shaker motor to be less intense, turned machine on to test, sound was really low wtf! and sure enough the speakers were back to 4ohms, I reset back to 8ohms and all is good again.

On a side note though shaker is a lot better now, not rattling the whole cabinet when T-Rex event goes off!

Quoted from Aetos:

Which flipper rubber do you think is the best for this game? I want to try superbands or titans.

I had Titans on the flippers but felt they were a little too "bouncy" so I've put on Perfect Play rubbers on the flippers, so far I'm liking them they are not as bouncy as the Titans and seem to give a little more control, but as they say each to their own

#4089 4 years ago
Quoted from SheriffBarclay:

Let's try this again

It does on mine. The first time it did it she threw the ball to the players left and it ended up on top of a plastic I had to open the door pull the glass down and remove the ball, so much for that multiball Silly dinosaur

Quoted from iceman44:

Oh man. A six pack of 16oz ers in and I finally made it to Visitor Center

Yes it’s on 5 ball

Me Too! First time there what a blast, 2 ball multiball to start, that didn't last too long I got 192mil bonus for reaching there, but what a fun mode. Still need to get to Museum Mayhem and Invalid Frenzy. This game kicks ass!!!! Love it

I used a ratcheting right angle screwdriver. These come in handy for hard to reach places.

I have one of these but there isn't enough clearance between the bit and the side of the ratchet to turn the screw it hits the side of the ramp. Just my experience

The start button looks great in the photo. Would you recommend it? Also, where did you get the JP inserts on the coin slot lights? Thanks.

Thanks, I would definitely recommend the Start Button, I got the inserts from Filament printing But Rocket City Pinball makes some too and I'd already got the inserts before finding Andy
