Glad to know my upper flipper is adjusted properly. Thanks guys.

I checked the screws on my helicopter ramp switch. They are tight and the actuator arm is not interfering with the ball. Everything on it's under side looks great and the blades spin great. So I just adjusted the little set screw on the helicopter bade a few turns and so far so good with that issue.

I also put the tiny washer under the left shooter lane screw to help with balls not making it up the end of the shooter lane to the ramp properly. Seems to be working nicely so far.

Other then that we are just enjoying learning all the great rules on this game.
Love it.

I have a TREX issue. The ball is always caught by TREX but its like the magnet in mouth does not stop activating and the ball remains in his mouth during trex mb. Anybody deal with this? its not the ramp onto but rather the opt switch in the mouth. The opto in the mouth is not registering.

How about I do a video?

A few that my video will not capture that are inside cabinet.

Looks like the Papo one/the same one I added to my pin. It really does look fantastic and super easy to mount with that specific screw/post location. You just have to make sure his wings don't impede on the ramp. The way he has his mounted more upright is how I have mine too and that does the trick! Oh I didn't end up drilling into mine (maybe he did?). I used a sturdy wire clamp to one of the figurine's feet/ankle. Hasn't failed so far. There are multiple ways of course. Let me know if you want to see pics of the way I did it.

This was my issue BUT before you tear apart the Trex, run diagnostics on switches and stick your finger in there to see if switch (opto) registers
If not, might be same issue I had. Test switch first

I dunno what happened but it seemed like my pins got turbo juice today. They're all playing faster off all coils (flippers, pops, everything). Out of nowhere and completely by accident I made it up the T-Rex ramp backhanded from a cradle at the left flipper (I was shooting for the spinner lane). Also (again by accident), a shot made it all the way up the tower ramp from the left flipper off a bounce off the post at the tip of the upper right flipper (shooting for the O lane). Neither of those shots had happened on my machine before in all the games I've played. Then within a minute of it happening the first time another shot from the left made it up the tower off of the same post bounce. So twice in a minute after never happening before. And coil settings hadn't been changed.

It might have something to do with the line power coming into the house changing. Houses across the street had power out today. Last time I noticed this type of extra juice on my pins the transformer on the pole behind our house blew a day or two later. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen again, but in the meantime... turbo pinball is fun!

Just played a few games from my knees for the heck of it. It was kind of fun. Kind of a neat view with the ball coming more right at your eyes. And yes it’s been cool and wet outside for a week on top of shelter in place so me doing this is definitely a sign we’re getting a bit stir crazy.

Yeah that's the best thing about adding this Papo pterandon figure in particular, especially in this location. It looks like it belonged there in the first place like you said. Plus it's an inexpensive, very detailed addition. I highly recommend!

I posted these before, but here's my little guy again..I use this method of attachment on all my homemade mods (sign wire, electrical lugs)...He's dive bombing the truck and the ball rolls right under his wing on the helix, very cool and it looks absolutely like it belongs.

Super sturdy, no vibration, completely adjustable to any specific orientation

Wow. That looks amazing.
Few questions.
What kind and where to get sign wire and Electrical lugs?
Also looks like you have a metal plate under him somehow connecting it all.
Very sturdy setup.

I got the sign wire from Home Depot, they have Zinc and Galvanized versions, the zinc are duller but both have the same bending quality... They are very rigid and it takes a lot of force and two good vice grips, cutters to bend to desired angles, but it's not that hard and completely retains it's shape. I got the electrical lugs from home Depot also, they just fit the sign wire diameter and the lockdown screw holds firm.. Some blue locktite could be used but I don't need it. The plate underneath is just the flat flange of the lug...I used a screw and locking nut after drilling a hole right through the toy.... Too bad the Corona is here, would be totally welcome to come over for a peek

Trex is catching the ball....so far.

Quoted from ChipScott:

As far as the pinball getting lodged on the helicopter blades, I noticed that same thing on my machine when I got it.
What I found was that underneath the playfield, the post that comes from the helicopter blades (that spins) was binding on the edge of the hole that it travels through. You'll see that associated with this spinning helicopter mechanism there is a somewhat adjustable nut under the playfield that you can adjust to move that post just a hair, and give it more space to spin without binding on the edge of that playfield hole. That should probably take care of it.
Keep us posted

OK.
Credit where credit is due.
Chipscott was 100% correct with this diagnosis and I kinda blew past it because it did not seem like there was any way that the rod under the playfield could ever come in contact with the metal plate that only half way surrounds it. Boy was I wrong.

When a ball got stuck under the blade again, I noticed that if you lift up on the helicopter blade while it is over the habitrail like a ball does, it will cause the rod under the playfield to get jammed under the little metal plate with the computer board on it. (photo in next post below)
Luckily there are two set screws to move this plate a bit over to the right and fix this for good.

FINALLY made it to Visitor's Center!!! Had been getting to the last paddock for weeks and finally broke through. Got a 240M bonus, and then of course proceeded to drain ridiculously quickly and only got 10M on the mode. This game just got its hooks into me even deeper. Too much fun!!!

Yup, I noticed the very same problem right off the bat on my machine when I got it. I was so happy to see that little bit of adjustment possible on that plate to be able to loosen those screws and slide that plate away a bit. I have not had an issue since.
Those blades are good to go now!

If it makes you feel better, I got there the other night and only had the raptor pen shot left (single shot) to complete the mode. I've been there about 4-5 times but have never gotten that far...so I was super excited. I had two cradled opportunities to hit the shot and both rattled out. I was so upset that I yelled some sort of creative profanity loud enough that I scared the dog.

Could you possibly post a few pics of your properly aligned upper flipper? I just re-aligned mine so that the tip of the flipper was centered on the post...this provides a little more clearance to hit that shot up the 180 ramp. As others have recently pointed out, I'm now experiencing close to center drains if I hit that loop and just let it come down to the lower flippers. I read Keith's post but could really use a few visuals of how a properly aligned upper flipper looks from the player's perspective and close up.

Thanks!

Here’s a picture of mine. Edge of the flipper should be lined up with the guide hole at the end of the poorly drawn red arrow. Mine should probably even go another fraction of an inch back toward the S lane. Hope this helps.

Interesting...I appreciate the pic. I'm pretty sure that mine was adjusted like yours from the factory. I just felt like many shots to the 180 ramp were clipping the flipper rubber and losing steam and thus not making it up the "ramp." After adjusting to center the flipper tip to the post, I can make more successful shots up the 180...it's actually a noticeable improvement. That said, now the ball will loop and hit the tip of the lower right flipper. It's not a drain, but if you don't see it coming than it could be.

With your alignment, what the ball do on both fast and slow loops?

Thanks!

Keith has already gone on record for the flipper position. The post is there entirely for the purpose of deflecting balls coming out of the loop so they don’t go STDM (or nearly STDM as yours are). Of course, it’s your pin, so you can set up the flipper how you want.

On mine, for slow and medium speed loops the ball falls down off the guide and hugs the face of the flipper, so it then takes a more noticeable hop off the post. On fast and really fast loops the ball doesn't fall down off the guide and hug the face of the flipper as much, so sometimes it will catch a bit of the post and sometimes will miss it. Overall I don't have issues with SDTM coming from the loop though. It happens only once in a great while and pretty much only during multiball when I don't have a chance to see it coming and try to clip it with the end of the flipper. Now of course I'm sure I just jinxed myself with that

Quoted from bgwilly31:

My Upper flipper has definitely started to sag.

Mechanically it's pretty straightforward. Just one spot to loosen and then move the flipper and crank it tight again. The trickier part is 1) holding the flipper still when you re-tighten so it ends up aligned where you want it and 2) making sure you don't have the flipper sitting higher or lower from the playfield (the flipper gap) than it was before you loosened it. I think the rule of thumb is a credit card should fit between the playfield and flipper. I've only done it once myself.
