Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Thanks Will do! Kinda tough finding a coil that isnt there!

Did you solve the mystery??

#2502 4 years ago
Quoted from Nameim:

I wish there was a game related call out or sound effect for the match sound. I like the crashing glass sound on my WOZ.

You could add a real knocker too

https://www.pinballlife.com/real-knocker-kit-for-stern-spikespike-2.html

#2503 4 years ago
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Is there any shipping binding on the Raptor?
I havent seen mine move. I checked Coil tests but didnt see one dedicated?
Is the back plate a coiled kick back?

Mine was moving fine until the right leg got stuck under the acrylic right hand raptor pen. I just had to free it and it worked fine again. Only played about six games today on Jurassic Park and Elvira and I had to take the glass off three times for stuck balls ugh.

Now go to Bed.

Quoted from Royale-W-Cheese:

Okay I am on it.
I need a favor...newbie/dummy me cant figure out why this piece is needed for the raptor pit. The 2 Pieces lay over the existing plastic perfectly.
What am I missing?[quoted image]

It is needed for the Raptor tower clearance on the left side, the original one won't fit correctly with the mod

Look for me in Houston, I am driving down Friday and will stay at same hotel as the show. Let's Party!!!!

I'm an old fart, don't feel like it but 47 next week ...

Bringing my daughter to the show so no partying for me lol

That piece was included in the Raptor tower mod not the pit

If you overlay them, there is a slight amount of clearance on the Mezel acrylic for the left side of the mod which goes all the way to the playfield unlike the original

My raptor tail was rubbing on the metal plate to the right. 30 seconds with a heat gun and a little pressure curls the tail a little tighter so now the tail does not rub.

I’ll snap a pic when I get home if you’re interested.

Yes sorry guys misunderstood thought that was the OEM Stern part. Yes that new piece allows the Mezel Mod raptor tower to fit all the way down. If you use the old acrylic it doesn’t fit.

You maybe, I’m 51 and a spring chicken.....

Seriously I joined Pinside one year ago, since then I’ve figured out that about 80 percent of the pinball owners and people on here are just about 50. Seems that is about the age you get enough play money to throw away on these toys that none of us need but all of us crave. And they built into this hobby the addictive mystery poison that makes us just have to keep getting more once you get that first one. I had no idea what I was signing up for when I joined the club but I am just loving the ride baby! I’ll worry about my son’s inheritance after I get that one last machine....... . No matter what, he’s getting lots of beautiful pins.

Joined the party last night and it’s phenomenal! Picked it up last night with my dad and it plays great out of the box! I was most impressed with the way the game sounds.

Any hints on how to tighten the post by the upper right flipper without taking the flipper mech off from underneath?

#2516 4 years ago

I've also found that removing the washer in the raptor leg and playing with the degrees of tightness on the screw eliminates the raptor from getting stuck in the faceplant position...seems the washer actually did more harm than good

Also, tightening the weighted washer weight too much allows the screw to just clip the acrylic protector..

Letting a little slack and the looseness of the washer weights, actually helps to bring the raptor make to standing position rather than a tight cylinder

Mine was loose from the get go... Tightened it once and it has not loosened since
I used a flat wrench to hold the nut in place...I had one left over from over the years...looks like a cheap thing you get from an ikea assembly but it works

Okay I am not such a dummy. When I unboxed/ unwrapped both pieces I swear it was in the pit bubble wrap not the tower wrap and that's why I was so confused.

Going to go install it now and then move onto the Tower and I am all done with MODS. #Done #Overit #putaforkin #nomoremods

Ha! There's always one more mod

I really wish there was a little computer terminal mod near the control panel...maybe even a real screen like in Batman..I would throw good money at that

Shhhh. It could be in the works. I am talking to 2 designers about 2-3 items no one is making and I think would be a hit.

Only problem is they are sooooo busy.

Hope you guys have seen the awesome Barbasol can in the works with he lighted Vials...pure sickness . # Money # Awesome.

I might just tell you over a few beers.

Raise playfield, turn phillips-head screw on top of the post while preventing the under-playfield nut from turning with a flat-head screwdriver. Takes 30 seconds and once tight, doesn't easily come loose.

I just need to run to home depot to get one...so takes longer than 30 seconds...LOLOL.

Thanks for the tip.

Have they addressed the loose upper flipper post in the newer models? I'm debating picking up a premium in the next couple of weeks, but wanted to wait for that and the pf issues to be resolved.

Mine was loose when I got it as well as some other posts but once the lock nut was tightened and 500 plays later, it's all still tight...

I just think they are rushing a little on the line to get them out and some of the QC needs to be brought up a little but it's been nothing serious on my Premium

Cool beans! That sounds ok. It seems like the playfield issues have been resolved too (at least, I don't see people reporting new issues in any of the threads), so I'll probably end up pulling the trigger in a week or two. Just have to decide if I want to sell something first .

#2531 4 years ago

It's been a great morning. Wifey was playing while I was getting coffee and I heard " Secret Skill Shot" from the kitchen. I asked her what she did and she said no idea I was just flipping away. LOL.

Raptor Cage is Complete.

Trisha is flying nicely around the Jeep.

Next up is the Tower.........might need you guys if I get stuck.

Here is a little treat for you guys. The lucky ones who downloaded the new clips have heard 2 versions at the end of the game.

Wifey jumped on the piano and I caught her playing and practicing. Not bad for 3 attempts.

Did you get the chance to download the enhanced audio clips, the double ending piano tune is what we were trying to achieve not the entire orchestra just the lonely piano.

Anyone else loving the new clips??

delt31 dont be a stranger.

#2536 4 years ago

I definitely love the new clips. Delt did a great job. Looking forward to final product, hopefully he can get all the fake Samuel Jackson quotes replaced with the real deal. That will be wicked cool.

So I didn’t see an answer to my flipper question yet, I already did a search on here but most of the info is about rebuilding flippers. I just need to change the angle of my upper flipper on my JP so it doesn’t cause so many bricked shots. Has anyone done this yet on JP. Is it easy? What I can find it’s one nut but not sure the actual process. I searched before asking! Thanks.

It's easy, but if you've never adjusted a flipper before you might think it's more involved. You just need an Allen wrench to loosen the nut, adjust the flipper and tighten the nut. The trick is making sure you still gap the flipper properly...try not to move the flipper vertically (to maintain the current gap...assuming it is correct). Google is your friend

Mine is in same spot.

By the way you need some stickers big time.

Came to the same exact conclusion on mine. With the factory installes washer, the nub could swivel past it's slot and bind. Removed the washer on the inner side and my raptor always returns after pouncing now.

We are working on it. I have isolated hundreds of clips now from multiple sources (mainly the original movie, of course). I also have a few other things in the works. Takes time. Spending nearly an hour per clip to get really good first-rate audio.

So last week, I had to adjust the shaker because of how violently it jackhammers the game. While I was there I find a screw and two washers at the bottom of the cabinet. Wouldn't have minded so much to find them there but I know for a fact they weren't there last week when I had to lift the PF to tighten the upper flipper post.

Just played a game tonight, and for the 3rd time since I've had the game, an errant washer came out of hiding and flew onto the playfield during a game. None of them ever looked like they were used, so someone probably just dropped them during manufacture.

Anyone know what the round thing on the T-Rex tongue is? A sensor or a light? Or the magnet? I was experimenting with the bias settings and noticed it. Just curious about what it is.
