Post 2001, A Jurassic Odyssey!
Quoted from Flynnyfalcon:Can anyone with Pinstadiums (Ideally on a JP) explain where they are powered from?
They plug in to the service outlet in the backbox. Then alligator clip to a GI and Flasher socket of your choice.
Quoted from pinghetto:Just got my premium. Had a loud pulse on the Trex motor. Very high pitched motor noise when in attract mode.
Seems to be amplified by the rear two strings of GI pulsing.
The motors both seem to be working, but the noise is bad. Even with the glass on.
Anyone run across this? I'll give Chas a call tomorrow.
Brian
Nope. Mine is high pitched when it's resting in attract mode..
I’m sure this was mentioned but I can’t seem to find it. My TRex is rejecting the ball 70% of the time. Is there an easy fix for this?
Can someone make this post a Key Post?

In a word no. I have tried everything suggested so far. No luck. It catches maybe 1 in 20 shots.
I started a thread on the tech forum as well.
Good luck!
Quoted from marksf123:I like the looks of that topper. Just holding out till we see what Stern is coming up with before I pull the trigger.
That topper is limited. He's not making anymore. In fact I think they might be sold out now.... You should inquire fast if interested.
This isn't your typical Stern le will sell out BS. I think these are truly limited based on their other toppers you can't buy

I got in on the topper last weekend. Definitely near the end of the run.
Quoted from That370Z:Exciting day, our premium came in! The less exciting part, first thing I noticed after unboxing..it’s already falling apart. The hunt for the missing screw is on (if it was even there originally). SMH, get it together Stern!![quoted image][quoted image]
Same here on mine. Every screw and nut were loose on my pf. And every post super loose!
Recommend everyone check and retighten before playing.
And raptor gate was Misaligned
Great game after adjusting.
She's here! Thanks to Mike at GAP for the great service!
sitting in her temporary home in the dining room until I have an extra set of hands after work to get her down to the basement game room, wasn’t going to wait 7 hours to start playing though!

Snuck it into the basement and surprised my boy with it. He was so excited I thought he was going to explode. After oogling over it for a short period of time, he ran up stairs and changed pajamas to one of his many dinosaur pajamas and came back down stairs to play it. For those of us family guys and gals out there, these themes are killing it on the home front and an easy sell, STERN is nailing it. My kids love it, my wife loves it, and I love it. We have a keeper.
I had a couple of issues right out of the box that luckily were quick fixes, but I figure I'll post them here in case anyone else with less experience is having similar issues.
1. My T-REX head wasn't working properly when set-up and ready for play. The head moved off to the right and then was grinding, stuck in that position. Wouldn't move anywhere else in any of the test modes. I pulled the glass off, slid the playfield out a few inches and inspected everything - all connectors were solid, the T-REX head moved freely by hand, nothing obvious. Then I tried sliding the playfield back into place and could feel something rubbing on the back of the playfield - IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE WITH YOUR T-REX HEAD MAKE 100% SURE THAT THE MAIN WIRE BUNDLE IS OFF TO THE SIDE. The black wire bundle of all the cables coming from the head down into the cabinet was contacting ever so slightly with the back of the T-REX assembly and impeding it's movement. Once I moved that off to the side the T-REX head worked as it was supposed to.
2. My raptor gate wasn't adjusted flush with the playfield. This caused locked balls in the raptor pit to get stuck and not release. Simple adjustment on the bottom side of the playfield to get flush. Keep in mind that you probably want to keep this flush to even ever so slightly raised so that the ball doesn't chip away at the rear edge of the slot of the gate. It's a fine line between allowing the ball to roll out of there when lowered and being just low enough you're going to damage your playfield over time.
3. My helicopter wing happened to get a stucky during multiball. shot another ball up the ramp and it knocked the first one free but then the second one got stuck. ended up having to take the glass off. this could be one of those one in a thousand type situations where the ball just happened to meet at that perfect moment.
4. After playing dozens of JP's in the wild I was ready for applying locktite on the upper flipper post. When I went to do that it looks like there's now a nut and a washer sandwiched between the flipper mech and the playfield (as opposed to a T-nut from before). Needless to say I wasn't going to remove the whole flipper mech at this point, but I'm wondering - what percent of LE/Premium owners with this new nut and washer setup are having their post get loose? It's obvious STERN changed something, I would assume to fix the issue, but it doesn't really look like it's a lock washer, so I'm not sure if it's really gonna last...
Anyway, the game is an absolute blast. Keith knocked it out of the park again. Looking forward to his next design.
I just received my premium. What a great game. The problem I am having though is my T-Rex head wont go up or down, just left and right. Because of this when the T-Rex event happens, he wont lower to get the ball. His mouth will open, but the head wont lower. I tried the swtich tests and the jaw opens and closes, but the head wont raise or lower. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jason

Based on my invoice it looks like I will be getting 449 but I will confirm Monday.
Ran into a few problem already. I think I have them fixed thanks to previous posters who have had similar problems.
1. My raptor gate wouldn't go all the way down. It was NOT because of the screws in the bottom though. It was that the installer had F'd up a screw attempt so they apparently just moved the hole 1/16" back and in the process caused the lip of the raptor gate to get stuck on the playfield. It's tough to see in the picture but that corner of the gate is resting on the top of the playfield. I unscrewed the one side, filled the holes with toothpicks and rescrewed just slightly off of the original holes and so far so good.
2. Plunger won't ever make full plunge. Auto was 75/25 making it. I had the same problem as another pinsider - one side of the fork on the ramp was bent high causing the ball to carom side to side as it went up the ramp and lose lots of speed. Unscrewed the low (correct) side and propped it with a small piece of plastic as a test and so far it's 100% on auto plunge but still 0% on manual plunge)
Hopefully I don't run into any more issues...

done
I've had the stuck ball on the helicopter a couple of times. I thought I was missing a screw in that hole that was causing it!
Neil.
@chet218 I’m still waiting to hear back from Stern on my Trex head. Mine will move around ok but makes a loud noise and won’t lower for events either.
Quoted from Royale-W-Cheese:What you guys think?? added a little touch of color.
Which look do you like? Behind the Plaque or In front of plaque?
ulekstore - Thanks for sending the green cover as a test.[quoted image][quoted image]
Behind looks better IMHO. It highlights the plaque nicely. In front washes out the details too much.
Here's some videos of what my TRex is sounding like in attract mode. Seems to correspond with GI. The sound is definitely coming from the motor.
Talked to Chas today. He suggested swapping the node boards. I'll try that tonight..

Based upon other posts it wouldn't hurt to check to see if the wiring harness for the T-Rex head is a bit tight, causing the head to bind.

I saw that posted this morning by someone. I will definitely look that over tonight again. Thanks
It took me a while to make my decision but I just ordered a Jurassic Park LE. It will be delivered 11/7/19. Can't wait to post some pictures.

Did you buy number 004? Surprised they are still available.
Congrats on your purchase.
Premium arrived today. Playfield issues are present at each of the 4 up posts. The post on the left inlane has a chip and a small piece of missing paint. There doesn't appear to be any rubbing. Doesn't seem like any of the posts were finished properly. You can feel a roughness with your fingers on each. I've already contacted my distributor. Build date of 10/22. I knew this was a possibility but still not happy. Hopefully they address this issue properly. Definitely a bummer after spending over $7k and waiting since July 23rd for my premium.
Trex works fine. Plunger doesn't always make the shot properly but does most of the time. How do I test the raptor movement? Action button had to be adjusted to work, as it didn't ose the switch at all. That was an easy adjustment. I love the actual game but pissed about the quality control. Your move Stern.

man that sucks.
Already sent pics to my distro. He forwarded to Stern and said to check back in 3 weeks and to keep on playing it. I'm pissed but I'll trust in my distro and enjoy the game.
My LE was made end of September and doesn't have that. Although it did have crooked flippers which I've fixed now.
2 more happy pin owners checking in today.

Chaz at Stern helped me figure it out. One of the connectors that goes between node board 9 and 9a, a wire had come out. Fixed that and all good to go.
Quoted from PBatt:It catches maybe 1 in 20 shots
If you are running the latest code, go in and turn the right flipper power back up to 255; they dropped the default strength in 0.91, and it works much better on mine at 255
Quoted from MrMikeman:I wish!!
May need to call in sick next week lol. Distro is only open weekdays 8-4.
Couldn’t wait anymore. Picking it up tomorrow morning
Quoted from pinghetto:Nope. Mine is high pitched when it's resting in attract mode..
For what it's worth. Was a bad #9 node board. Swapped #9 with #8 and the inlanes, outlanes, and shoot again lights all stayed on.
Distributor is sending out a new node.
Chas was great to deal with at Stern. Nice to have a company actually be responsive to tech support.

Will do. Just to clarify - The T-Rex wasn't grabbing the ball consistently so you increased the flipper power and it works better?
Thanks,
Peter
